Emerge-Lila Felix
Jenna has spent too long being complacent and accepting. Her mother and step-father constantly belittle and berate her for simply being alive. She passes through life keeping everyone and everything at arm’s length because it’s just not worth the questions or the pity party. She takes what they dish out and just tries to survive.
She has thought up a million different ways to get away from them, but lacked the motivation and the sheer will. Like a fast moving tornado, her motivation comes in the form of a boy who cares for her as none other has and who shows her a glimpse of hope, a glimpse into a life she never thought she could have.
But is her new motivation enough to get her out…

REVIEW
Oh My Goodness.I Did NOT want to put this book down.Holy Jehoshaphat.I know im not being as eloquent as I could be.Lila has created a story that is heartbreaking yet has that rainbow with the pot of gold you are waiting for.Emerge is a story about Jenna who has to deal with a horrible home life...Dont even get me started on her mom..and I use that term loosely or her step dad. Then She meets Carlos..Enter her Rainbow.Without giving to much of the book away..lets just Say Carlos is a wonderful guy and he is her sunshine on a rainy day. I loved that there was an epilogue..In fact that was one of my favorite parts.I think my only issue with this book is that it had to eventually end.Well done Lila..I look forward to reading your next book...so get to writing!I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Mobsters Girl-Amy Rachiele- 5 stars
Gripping my chest is the only way to hold myself together or what’s left
of me will fall out. The past week has enlightened me on one thing-I
don’t care.
Megan, Mobster’s Girl
I didn’t even hesitate. I took two strides and blasted him in the face with my fist. He was ready for it this time-unlike in church. He tried to hit me back but I ducked and smashed him again.
Antonio, Mobster’s Girl
You can’t help what family you’re born into or what lies they keep from you. You can’t help it if they mold and shape you just the way they wanted. Are monsters born or made?
Antonio and Megan have a timeless issue. They were told to stay away from each other. They try, they really do. But they are drawn to each other.
Antonio is eighteen and the up and coming mob boss of Palmetto, New Jersey. Megan is a girl uprooted from the grassy plains of Ireland at the age of five. Now she’s seventeen and faced with horrors she never thought existed.
-------------------------------------
Wow,What a very wonderful read.I was expecting to enjoy it..but totally and utterly fell in love with it.This story is about the somewhat forbidden romance between Megan and Antonio. Megan is a Irish girl in an Italian neighborhood and Antonio is the son of a mob boss. They are both attracted to each other and for a short while are able to date before Megan's Parent's do something unthinkable.Without giving to much of the ending away lets just say its left at a nail biting cliffhanger.
I was blown away by just how easily I was able to immerse myself in this book.I wish it was longer and not a series as I really disliked that it ended. But that is a sign of a great book.It was a quick read for myself so I hope book 2 is slightly longer.I see great things coming from Amy Rachiele.I am anxiously awaiting ..throw in some nail biting as well for book 2 and hoping to see how Megan and Antonio's relationship plays out.

Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys-Kate Brian 4 stars
When she was nine, Megan Meade met a group of terrible, mean,
Popsicle-goo-covered boys, the sons of her father's friend -- the
McGowan boys. Now, seven years later, Megan's army doctor parents are
shipping off to Korea and Megan is being sent to live with the little
monsters, who are older now and quite different than she remembered
them.
Living in a house with seven boys will give Megan, who has never even been kissed, the perfect opportunity to learn everything there is to know about boys. And she'll send all her notes to her best friend, Tracy, in...
Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys
Megan's parents are in the military and are moving to South Korea.Megan is tired of moving and wants to stay in the states. In order for her to stay she has to stay with the McGowen Boys..who have drastically changed from in the years since she last saw them.
First off let me pre-face this and say I expected more from this book.I liked it and it drew me in,kept my attention in the book. However the lack of romance in the book was a big disappointment. You have a really good book and then you have one measly chapter of a small romance and then You have no idea whats going on with that relationship since the book never takes you there or goes over it.Just brushes over it.I thoroughly enjoyed this book except for the ending.I feel the ending could have closed things up a bit more..Unless there is going to be a sequel.Perhaps that's why it was left the way it was. This book is a fun read that is worth taking the time to read.

Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys
Observation #1: Being an army brat sucks. Except that this is definitely a better alternative to moving to Korea. Observation #2: Forget evil, laughing, little monsters. These guys have been touched by the Abercrombie gods. They are a blur of toned, suntanned perfection.----------------------------------------
Observation #3: I need a lock on my door. STAT.
Observation #4: Three words: six-pack abs.
Observation #5: Do not even get me started on the state of the bathroom. I'm thinking of calling in a hazmat team. Seriously.
Observation #6: These boys know how to make enemies. Big time.
Megan Meade will have to juggle a new school, a new family, a new crush -- on the boy next door, as in next bedroom door -- and a new life. Will she survive the McGowan boys?

Across The Hall-NM Facile
Sylvia O’Mara has spent the last four years trying to get over her high
school sweetheart, who after breaking off their relationship left town
without any reasons. With the help of her friends she has moved on and
started dating a mysterious bad boy. She isn't happy, but she's content;
until she meets the new neighbor.
Quinn Lobato has recently moved to Minneapolis to finish college close to his parents. His mother found the perfect apartment for him close to campus and assured him it has everything he needs. Quinn has had his own hurtful past and is looking forward to starting med school and a new life.
Little do they know that what they each need is waiting just across the hall.
-------------------------------
Major Spoilers In the 2nd chapter...Cover your eyes! :P
Wow what a story!Across the Hall is a story about two people who are trying to get over their pasts.Little did they know how much they would need each other.I cannot even begin to imagine having the person who broke your heart, who you never got over move in across from you,but that is what happens to Sylvia.Meet Quinn..who single handily ruined Sylvia emotionally...He did have his selfless reasons I have to add.One must have a "Villian" in a book once in awhile and the Villian here is Beau.Beau is Sylvia's "boyfriend" and a bad boy who ends up stalking her.Beau is BAD.
The Point of View goes from Sylvia to Quinn each chapter,I like this idea to a point. What I did NOT like was the fact that I read Sylvias Point of View and the next chapter had to read quinns take on the previous chapter..which basically made me feel like I was reading the same chapter twice the entire book.Everyone who reads this blog has to know..Im an Epilogue Girl...This Epilogue was one I did not enjoy. It was taken too far into the future.I would have been happy knowing they had a wonderful like and kids etc.I really didnt need to see them as Grandparents.I just think She took it too far into the future. To go from them being 22 respectively to suddenly grandparents in the Epilogue was a bit of a leap for me.
I can respectively group this book with the likes of Jamie Mcquire and Colleen Hoover.I thoroughly enjoyed this book.It was YA MATURE novel. There is Cursing,Sex and lots of drinking in it..which totally makes for a pretty darn great book. You can Purchase Across the Hall HERE on Amazon.

Loving Summer-Kailin Gow
Summer has always looked forward to spending her summers at her Aunt's
beach house with the Donovans. To her, summers at Aunt Sookie's beach
house was magical, especially getting to spend time with the Donovans -
her best friend Rachel and Rachel's brothers Nathaniel, and Drew. Here
at Aunt Sookie's beach house, they can be anyone and anything they
dreamed. For Summer, she had always wished to become as pretty as Rachel
and for her brothers to think of her as more than Rachel's friend. For
Nat and Drew, summers at Aunt Sookie's beach house meant fun and escape,
a place where they go to with their mom and sister for the summer, away
from city life. They never thought this summer would be different. They
never thought things would change as much as they did...and it all
began with them falling for and loving Summer.
---------------
Kailin Gow has done it again...creating yet another great story...that when it ends your left wanting to beg her to hurry up and release the following book. How can she keep doing this to me..oh the torture!(Okay enough dramatics..breath in breath out..)
In Loving Summer your introduced to Summer,Rachel,Nat,Drew and Aunt Sookie(who I happened to have so much trouble with her name since everytime I read it..I read it in Vampire Bills...Sookeh voice.) I dont want to call this a love triangle as its not quite a triangle..but perhaps a love square?Without giving too much of the book away there are 3 boys who all fall in love with Summer.I will leave it at that.Throughout this book Kailin Gow again addresses some serious topics;Depression, self esteem, divorce,Suicide.I love that she addresses these topics..they need to be out there floating around.
So once again Kailin has written another wonderfully entertaining story. If your looking for an nice summer read..pick this up.You wont be disappointed.
You can purchase Loving Summer HERE for kindle(or paperback) Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

tease anything that wants to eat you. My name is April Tate and my
blood is the new gold. Vampires and hybrids have overrun my world, once
vibrant with life, but now a graveyard of death shrouded in shadows. I
fight to survive; I fight for my mother and brother. The journey is full
of turns that I am quite unprepared for. And I'm just hoping to make it
to the next Vegas sunrise..."[Soft Break][Soft Break]In
a post-apocalyptic world, a viral epidemic has wiped out most of the
earth’s population, leaving behind few humans but untold numbers of
mutated vampires. April is a seventeen-year-old girl who lives in the
remains of Las Vegas one year after the outbreak. She has become a
ferocious vampire killer and after her family is abducted, she goes
searching for them. What she finds is a new breed of vampire, unlike any
she has seen before. Unsure of whom she can trust, she discovers that
her view of the world is not as black and white as she once thought, and
she's willing to bend the rules to rescue her family. But in trying to
save them, she may only succeed in bringing her fragile world crashing
down around her.
Excerpt #1
Rye
tilted his head as he narrowed his steely eyes, sizing me up. “You
think you’re so righteous, don’t you? This so-called mission of
yours–killing the wildlings like animals–and for what? Just to find your
family. Does that make you better than us?” He started shaking his head
as he further closed the gap between us, a sinister grin dwelling on
his lips. “But you’re not better than us, April. You, my dear, are just
another kind of vampire.”
Excerpt #2
My
eyes fell on one thing that I had not noticed before. The driver’s side
door was slightly cracked open. My stomach lurched for a moment as I
slowly stepped around the front of the van to look at the door. A smear
of blood ran along the handle and up to the edge of the window. A bloody
handprint of dark brick red in color, painted the center of the door. I
gasped as my heart jumped, immediately drawing my machete out. I
crouched against the van as my eyes darted around, looking for anything
that would lead me to where they were. I searched the ground for blood
trails but none could be found. If scavengers were out here too, they
could have snatched them and I’d have been none the wiser. Not that I
had seen any for almost a year.
Excerpt #3
I
rounded the corner and came to dead stop. Before me stood a woman,
dirtied and with wild hair. Her face was streaked with grime and rips
ran through her clothing. Blood had dried in dark red and brown splats
on her shirt and pants and the large Rambo-like knife that she fingered
in front of me. She was ready to pounce, slowly shifting on her legs as
she narrowed her eyes at me. Sucking in my breath, I instinctively
reached for one of the machetes strapped to my side.

Easy-Tamarra Webber
A girl who believes trust can be misplaced, promises are made to be broken, and loyalty is an illusion.
A boy who believes truth is relative, lies can mask unbearable pain, and guilt is eternal.
Will what they find in each other validate their conclusions, or disprove them all?
When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she's single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, stalked by her ex's frat brother, and failing a class for the first time in her life.
Her econ professor gives her an email address for Landon, the class tutor, who shows her that she's still the same intelligent girl she's always been. As Jacqueline becomes interested in more from her tutor than a better grade, his teasing responses make the feeling seem mutual. There's just one problem--their only interactions are through email.
Meanwhile, a guy in her econ class proves his worth the first night she meets him. Nothing like her popular ex or her brainy tutor, Lucas sits on the back row, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. At a downtown club, he disappears after several dances that leave her on fire. When he asks if he can sketch her, alone in her room, she agrees--hoping for more.
Then Jacqueline discovers a withheld connection between her supportive tutor and her seductive classmate, her ex comes back into the picture, and her stalker escalates his attention by spreading rumors that they've hooked up. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy.
(Mature Young Adult/ New Adult)
---------------
I think I have found my 2nd in line for Travis Maddox In Lucas. Why is that my first sentence you may ask? It's very significant.Travis is a hard character to live up to and well Lucas is right there next to him.Let me backtrail though.Jacqueline follows her current boyfriend,Kennedy to college where he dumps her in what I would call very douche like terms.Sometimes happens to her walking to her car from a party one night and there she meets Lucas. She falls into a slump and needs tutoring..Enter Landon.Throughout the book you will learn to love both Landon and Lucas..who will she choose?Or will she have to?
I fell in love with the secondary characters in Easy as well as the primary characters...Who wouldnt want an Erin by her side?Lucas..well there is just something about a guy with tattoos and a lip ring isn't there?Whew is it hot in here?Lucas and Jacqueline fairly sizzled with chemistry.Tamarra did an amazing job showing that its good and perfectly right to stand up for yourself after being a victim of a crime or an attempted crime.I like that Jacqueline and her friends took self defense classes..I loved that they didnt just sit back and do nothing.I have nothing to critique about this book.I loved it from start to fnish..in fact I could do with a sequel. You deserve a rousing round of applause.

Love Evolution-Michelle Mankin
Nineteen year old Avery Jones can play the guitar as well as any guy. Better Even.
Brutal Strength, one of the biggest bands around, needs a new lead guitarist.
Seems like the perfect fit, except for one big problem. Temperamental lead singer Marcus Anthony won't allow a woman in his band.
Read Love Evolution, a rock 'n roll adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
----------
**REVIEW**Possible spoilers
This book totally Rocks! No pun intended!Having never read Twelfth Night, but being familiar with a girl dressing as a guy to get a part/something I am familiar with. This book is about Avery Jones who dresses as a boy to get into a band.Marcus has hang ups about women that being his main reasoning for not allowing a woman into the band Brutal Strength.
While this book was very enjoyable,I did have a few hang ups about it.I felt like we had so much of of Avery as a boy and Marcus knowing her as a boy that I did not get to know her as Avery the girl.I would have liked to know Avery the girl.I also had issues with how new characters were brought into the book at the end and we were taken to their point of view..it was a bit of a distraction for me.I personally did not feel the book needed them to have their point of view in it.Last but not least. My biggest issue with the book was the ending,It felt rushed.Im not going to lie..I think Marcus's speech could have been a bit more mature sounding,If that makes sense.Like he professes to love Avery, but if she is with another character thats okay.No thats not okay Marcus..if you are professing your love it is NOT okay.I will say though that Marcus in the end was awesome!
Finally,While I did have personal issues with this book I thoroughly enjoyed it.Definitely a must read from a new author that shows a lot of potential!I look forward to reading more of her books..perhaps a sequel?Hint Hint!!!Keep up the great work Michelle Mankin!
If you want to purchase Love Evolution you can purchase it HERE on Amazon. Happy Reading!

Q & A For you!
1.What made you want to write?
Honestly it
was the only thing I was ever good at, at least in school. I noticed as a
young child that language just made sense to me... reading and writing
were easy, and I never struggled with them even for a second. But I can
hardly do math - that is not an exaggeration; I can barely work a
monthly budget! - and I have the organizational skills of a snail. Which
really may not be fair to the snail. So I was kind of a lousy student.
My dad was (is) big on reading and always encouraged me in that way.
Combine that with most of my teachers thinking I was a poor student not
capable of much...and then being shocked when I turned in a paper - I
guess it made me feel good at writing and also eager to prove my
teachers wrong, in terms of being successful. Also...writing is just
awesome and so freeing.
2.If you could be a fictional character for a day, who would you be?
Okay...
this is
going to sound kind of strange, but I have always been firmly convinced
that I was born at the wrong time, and despite knowing that my life
expectancy would be like, 29 and I would probably die of blood poisoning
from an abscessed tooth... I want to go back in time and just plant
myself in this little cabin by a creek or something and make my own soap
and dye my own clothing and wear firs without feeling like a murder
and... yeah, we can all see now that I am hopelessly delusional. BUT!
The point of this is, I'd like to be Claire Randall from Outlander.
Also, she's a doctor, and I'm still flirting with the idea of going back
to medical school one day.
3.Which book that you wrote is your favorite?
Probably
Over The Moon, an adult romance which should be released in late May. I
worked on it on and off for a few years and I guess I formed an
attachment to it.
4.Any plans for a new book once the sequels are done?
My next non-sequel will either be the shifter book, the U-PLOT-IT project being plotted on my blog and my Facebook page... or this YA sci-fi romance called Azalea & The Makers of Zen, which came to me in a dream and has been plotted and staring at me from its musty drawer intimidatingly since 2006.

5.Are there any books that you have read that you really admire by other authors? If so which ones?
I
enjoy a lot of other authors... As for the ones I really admire, they
tend to be authors who have either done something I'd like to do and
done it very well, or have done something I think I couldn't do. For
example, the author of Outlander is a writer I admire because I know I
would never have the patience to do as much research as she did. I'm
lazy and prefer to make things up. On the other hand, the author of
Under The Never Sky or Anne Eliot, who wrote Almost, have both recently
written books like some of the things I want to write (and haven't yet)
and done a
very solid job. There's another category for writers who just plain
scare my pants off and make me feel like I should be submitting medical
school applications or, heck, serving fruit at my local farmer's market,
because they are so brilliant I feel like I could never measure up. My
usual strategy for dealing with them is to study their work until I feel
like I can tell what strategies they use and then try to incorporate
them into my own work.
Q & A for Cayne and Julia
Julia and Cayne
1.What have you been up to lately?Julia: "Um... I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a secret, but..." She looks at Cayne, who is sitting in a high-backed leather chair in the great room at what appears to be a swanky ski resort. "Cayne, what do you think?"
Cayne shrugs.
"We're at this awesome resort in the Swiss Alps. And we're trying to find the other Chosen. You know, the ones that are...I dunno... rouges or whatever. We're trying to-" She looks pointedly at Cayne as if to ask for assistance, which he doesn't offer. Then she casts a reticent look toward le Squirrel. "Trying to find out some more stuff about me."
Cayne makes a lips-zipped motion, and Julia looks down at her lap. "Sorry, but I think that's all I can say. Security, ya know?"
Cayne
2.If you were plan a romantic date for Julia..what would that entail?
Cayne
smiles a Cheshire cat smile. "If I tell you now, Julia wouldn't be
surprised." He raises his brows at her, then gives le Squirrel a
serious stare. "And I am NOT letting her out of my sight."
He taps his fingertips together, as if thinking. "Let's just say this: If I ever get a chance to do anything like that, you'll be the first to know."

Julia
3.If you could spend a day not having to worry about anything at all what would you do?
She glances at Cayne, then puts her fingers to her mouth. "Hmmm..." She smiles at
Cayne. "That's a good one."
"I want to hear this," he says.
Julia looks bashful. "It's not a secret or anything. We just never have time."
Cayne snorts. "We're at a five-star resort."
"And you won't let me relax!" She wags a finger at him, then turns back to le Squirrel and folds her hands in her lap. "I think I would go flying with Cayne... and maybe he would take me to one of the lochs in Scotland. I know it's kinda lame, but I like that sort of stuff. In Memphis I was always around the river and...I kind of miss it now."
Cayne and Julla"I want to hear this," he says.

4.What is the one thing that makes the other special to you?Cayne gives Julia a funny smirk, and she looks shyly at her hands. When it's clear Cayne is not going to answer first, Julia says, "Well..." She glances over at him; Cayne is staring out at her impassively, but the corner of his mouth tucks up when she smiles. "There's more than one thing. But if I had to pick just one... It's hard. But I think I would say-" she laughs- "can it be two? Like, a combo of me being able to trust him to do what he says he will... and - this is cheesy, but - he can actually be really sweet - and I like that, too. Now, Cayne-" she waves his way- "it's your turn to be embarrassed."
Cayne looks Julia right in the eye and says, "I like everything about her."
"Wow." She grins.
Cayne and Julia
5.Any Pet peeves?
Julia
snorts. "Don't even get him started. He'd say 'everything' again." She
smiles in a frustrated-but-charmed kind of way. "But me...? I don't like
it when people leave the peeling from an orange in like...a little
pile. It's gross, even though it smells really good. And I don't like it
when people don't do what they say."
When Julia finishes talking, Cayne glances around, like who, me? And when it's obvious that it's his turn to answer and le Squirrel isn't going away, he says, "Everything."

An Excerpt From Chosen..We are VERY honored that Ella has given us an Excerpt
(Disclaimer: This has not been given to her editor so First draft material people!)
Chapter 1
Cayne had gone insane.
Militant, giving-looks-out-of-the-corner-of-his-crazy-eyes,
enforcing-the-rules-harshly-if-necessary, you-better-obey-me-woman kind of
crazy.
Since they’d landed at Zurich Airport, Julia had been forced
to consume nearly every delicacy known to Switzerland.
Switzerland? Make that Europe.
The latest eat-or-die item was something called tirggel. It
looked kind of like shortbread, tasted less sweet, and according to Carlin, was
‘educational.’
“People ate these in centuries past,” she explained, her
Spanish accent rolling the ‘r.’ “They were made to celebrate Christ’s birth.”
Julia cut her eyes at Carlin, then at Cayne.
Well she couldn’t argue with Jesus. She could, however, bite
the head off her horse-shaped tirggel. So she did. In fact, she finished her
plate, consuming one archer-looking tirggel dude and two more horses before
Cayne looked at Edan, who winked indiscreetly and pushed his café chair back,
stood on his long legs, and sauntered back to the counter, drawing the eyes of
every female in the place.
Julia dropped her head into her hand, the other hand moving
to cover her stomach. “No way.”
Cayne shot her a look that started out wide-green-eyes
innocent and quickly turned good-ole-fashioned-Cayne-style shrewd.
His left brow arched, and his face tipped down toward her.
“You haven’t had the Zürcher
Geschnetzeltes,” he murmured, a touch of a Scottish burr in his quiet tone. “It’s
very good here.”
“I’ve had the Zürcher
Geschnetzeltes in three other cafés! And how do you know it’s good?”
He arched that damned
hot brow again and leaned his dark head toward the wall of glass behind
him—sparkling windows that looked out over the second-story railing and into a
courtyard where people were…ugh…for some reason…well, skinny-dipping. Julia saw a woman’s butt
as she did a dramatic jump into the fountain, and Cayne gave another pointed
nod at the glass, where there was…a sticker? Okay, some kind of badge? Well,
she saw a number on it. Number One? She didn’t even know. Dang German.
Definitely not something they’d seen fit to teach her in Memphis City Schools.
“It says this café
has the best Zürcher Geschnetzeltes in this area.” He had the nerve to look smug,
like this knowledge made him somehow superior.
As Edan returned
with a basket full of veal and mushrooms, topped with a dreadfully familiar
creamy sauce, plus two baskets of miscellaneous stuff for himself, and Julia
opened her mouth to tell Cayne I’m NOT
too thin anymore and I’m not gonna get too thin cause my head feels FINE,
the café’s door swished open, a chirpy little bell rang, and in glided Drew and
Meredith, snowflake-speckled and looking like extras from Matlock.
Meredith wore a pale
gray trench coat that reached her ankles, and Drew had on a seal-skin-sleek
black coat that started with a—tsk, tsk!—a turtleneck and ended at the tops of
his shoes, and reminded Julia of a judge’s robe.
For a second, she
allowed herself to appreciate the humor in the situation. Their ridiculous
jackets, bought at some kind of Zurich bargain clothes store, totally ’80s,
totally silly, and the way their super-serious faces complimented their
costumes. Then Meredith’s big, dark eyes met Julia’s, and humor was the last
thing on her mind.
As Mer and Drew
neared, Julia wrapped her own cozy magenta sweater-cloak-thingie around herself
and leaned in to Cayne’s hand, which was suddenly stroking her back—his arm
having gone protectively around her shoulders. She could feel the tension in
his body, despite him sitting in his own chair; she could pretty much see the
wheels turning inside his head. The hand that stroked her so gently could
produce a Nephilim blood dagger in a millisecond, and that dagger could kill.
Which, for once, was
maybe a good thing. Because as Drew pulled out a chair for Mer and she shook
her head, Julia’s stomach flipped.
Meredith put her
hand on Drew’s shoulder, squeezing—and not in a gentle way. She glared down at
him and said, “Guys, I think that we should go. They’re here. For sure.”
Drew glanced up at
her, dark skin, dark eyes, dark hair contrasting sharply with his pearly teeth,
bared through scowling lips. “It’s best to let them pass,” he hissed, low
enough that no one else in the café would hear (unless, of course, they were
Chosen, too).
Meredith dropped
down on her heels, squatting beside him. “There’s a back door, Einstein.”
Carlin leaned
forward, deceptively angelic in a white suede coat, her long, brown curls
trailing down her back, her olive-colored skin pretty and smooth, lighting up
her bright, greenish-brownish eyes. “How many? Where were they?”
“We saw three of
them,” Mer said, “just like we thought. And one of them was definitely Adam.”
The table fell
silent, and Julia looked at all the faces. Cayne’s was hard and harsh; Edan’s
was comically oh-noes (and therefore not really very serious); Carlin’s had
bleached white.
“Adam?” she
whispered.
“Adam,” Mer said.
“We got close enough for me to catch some of their feelings. They were very
‘hunter’-ish,” she said, with air-quotes that caused her sparkly nails to
sparkle so traditionally Meredith-like that Julia’s chest hurt.
And at that, Cayne
stood, tugging Julia with him. He dropped a casual kiss on her forehead and
wrapped his arm more tightly around her, as if they were leaving. He said
something loud and German. The he nodded down at the table. In soft English, he
said, “Meredith is right. The back door connects to a hallway. It has a sign on
the outside that says ‘for staff only’ and requires an ID card for entry. If we
go one or two at a time and blend in with the kitchen staff as we pass the
bathrooms, we can all exit that way. It comes out near a hotel. We can rent
another van and go.”
Julia blinked,
mainly because she wasn’t sure she’d ever heard Cayne say quite so many words.
Edan stood, wiping a
hand back through his lustrous, wavy, shampoo-commercial, caramel-colored hair.
“I won’t be seen,” he said. “I’ll go out the front and meet you at the hotel.”
He said something in German (one of the words sounded like ‘hotel’), and Cayne
hesitated, then nodded.
For an instant,
Carlin, Drew, and Meredith watched him go—and so did Julia. Edan was like that:
magnetic. A weird kind of magnetic: one that accompanied a nervous, nauseated,
dementors-are-in-the-building kind of feeling. But still magnetic. It didn’t
hurt that his long, lean body was…well, it was something for other, single
girls (like Carlin) to gawk at. Julia
locked her eyes onto the Zürcher Geschnetzeltes and let Cayne pull her closer
to his chest.
“Julia and I will go
first. We’ll be waiting near the mouth of the hallway. Carlin and Meredith, go
to the women’s room in a minute. Drew, place an order, and when they turn
around to give it to the chef, you come, too.”
Drew’s eyes were
dark. “You’re not the group leader.”
“Neither are you,”
Meredith snapped. “Get going. We’ll come after.”
As Julia and Cayne
turned, moving as one, she saw the staff’s eyes follow them and knew Cayne had
been right. They did need a plan, because an entire table of people flocking to
‘the bathroom’ at one time was bound to attract attention. Cayne must have been
a step ahead of her, because, rather than simply walk toward the restrooms (and
the hallway), he pushed her gently into the wall at the back of the main room,
put his hot mouth on her neck, and ground his body into hers.
As Julia’s pulse
pounded, lightning-fast and heady, he clutched her hair and swept her boneless
body through the doorway, moving in the direction of escape.

Preservation-Rachael Wood
An Amazon Contemporary Romance best seller from the author of the best-selling paranormal romance series, The Resistance Trilogy.
Fear is sabotage's sweetest weapon.
Kate has no time for meaningless romantic charades, and definitely no time for hot college professors who are full of themselves and smitten with her. Constantly battling eviction notices, tuition she can't afford, and a sick, dependent mother, the last thing she needs is to be distracted with someone else's complicated baggage.
When she stumbles into Ryan Campbell's creative writing class, he is only "Mr. Campbell" to her, until Ryan finds himself captivated by her writing and she is forced to face their mutual attraction. His cocky know-it-all syndrome is enough to send her running in the other direction, and his posse of female admirers and playboy reputation are enough to squander any odds in her favor.
But underneath Ryan's abrasive facade is something to behold, and she can't stay away for long. Ryan and Kate must decide who they're willing to become and fight against their former selves if they want to make things work. That's if academia, vicious vixens, old skeletons, and their own mastery at self-destruction don't pummel their efforts first.
----------
**REVIEW**
I enjoyed this book.Kate is a girl on her own pretty much and Ryan is her professor. They are both adults and find each other attractive. They begin a relationship and have some twists and turns.Afterall..what relationship is perfect? While I enjoyed this book I did have some issues with it.Perhaps it had to do with a review I read..Perhaps not.
Let me start off,Prior to reading this story I made a mistake by reading a quote. This quote stated the male character was like my beloved Travis Maddox from Beautiful Disaster and My Other Beloved Sebastian Grey. That is ALOT to live up to and well unfortunately Ryan fell short in my eyes.Way Short. Its almost like comparing silk to cotton.
There were times in this book where the storyline just felt so rushed..Its disappointing to enjoy a book only to have an author rush to get it done..or it feel like its being rushed. It literally took 3 short chapters for major happenings in the book only to have it end very shortly after.A love scene at the end of the book just kind of came out of nowhere it felt like it was trying to do a bit fifty shades but since it wasn't throughout the book it did not really fit.I would have liked to know what Ryan was thinking and would have slowed it down a bit.
Overall,I did enjoy the book.I did have issues with the book.Would I read a story by Rachael Wade again?Probably,I cant help but feel a bit let down though.I think the summary was bit better then the actual book. You can find Preservation HERE on Amazon.

In Honor-Jessi Kirby
Honor receives her brother’s last letter from Iraq three days after
learning that he died, and opens it the day his fellow Marines lay the
flag over his casket. Its contents are a complete shock: concert tickets
to see Kyra Kelly, her favorite pop star and Finn's celebrity crush. In
his letter, he jokingly charged Honor with the task of telling Kyra
Kelly that he was in love with her.
Grief-stricken and determined to grant Finn's last request, she rushes to leave immediately. But she only gets as far as the driveway before running into Rusty, Finn's best friend since third grade and his polar opposite. She hasn't seen him in ages, thanks to a falling out between the two guys, but Rusty is much the same as Honor remembers him: arrogant, stubborn. . . and ruggedly good looking. Neither one is what the other would ever look for in a road trip partner, but the two of them set off together, on a voyage that makes sense only because it doesn’t. Along the way, they find small and sometimes surprising ways to ease their shared loss and honor Finn--but when shocking truths are revealed at the end of the road, will either of them be able to cope with the consequences?
**REVIEW**
Whew,This was an emotional read.Honor's brother is killed in action in Iraq,She reads a letter sent by him that was received after he passed away. She leaves immediately with the tickets that were enclosed. However, prior to her leaving Her brothers old friend Rusty shows up and ends up going with her.Along the way they are able to mourn and perhaps find love along the way.
First let me start off by saying I am in a military household so this hit very close to home.No one wants this to happen to anyone.I can honestly say the only thing that disappointed me in this book was that I wasnt sure if Honor and Rusty would continue their relationship.I would have liked an Epilogue just so I would know.I was also sad that it wasn't longer..but like I say its a sign of an amazing book when you don't want it to end.Thats it..thats the only fault I have with this story. It was a wonderful story that had two souls going on a journey and being able to grieve.
You can purchase In Honor HERE on Amazon.I hope you enjoy it and are as enthralled in it as I was.

*Second Edition containing full edits and additional updates on the Caged Moon Trilogy*
-----------
**REVIEW**
I honestly could not put this book down,I was fully engrossed from beginning until end.Charlotte was bitten by an animal when she was 5.Since being bitten she has a fear..I almost want to say disabling fear of Dogs. She meets Liam and immediately they are drawn to each other.Liam knows something is different about her but Charlotte is a bit oblivious and unaware of it.I thoroughly enjoyed Liam,Charlotte and the rest of the secondary characters were wonderful.
I would have liked a bit more body to the story, but that being said This is the 1st book of a trilogy so there will be more reading material to come. Its not a bad thing to want more,It means I enjoyed it that much that I wanted more more more!I did find the irony in Charlotte being scared of dogs pretty ironic due to her circumstances.
Caged Moon is the start of what I foresee as an excellent series.Im anxiously awaiting book 2 and 3.If you would like to purchase Caged Moon you can get it HERE on amazon.I hope you are drawn into it and enjoy it as much as I have!

What I Didn't Say-Keary Taylor
Getting drunk homecoming night your senior year is never a good idea,
but Jake Hayes never expected it all to end with a car crash and a
t-post embedded in his throat. His biggest regret about it all? What he never said to Samantha Shay. He's been in love with her for years and never had the guts to tell her. Now it's too late. Because after that night, Jake will never be able to talk again.
When Jake returns to his small island home, population 5,000, he'll have to learn how to deal with being mute. He also finds that his family isn't limited to his six brothers and sisters, that sometimes an entire island is watching out for you. And when he gets the chance to spend more time with Samantha, she'll help him learn that not being able to talk isn’t the worst thing that could ever happen to you. Maybe, if she'll let him, Jake will finally tell her what he didn't say before, even if he can't actually say it.

**REVIEW**
Oh My,I enjoyed this story so much Im at a loss for words on how to describe it.My words wont do the book justice.Jake goes to a party and makes a fateful decision to get into a car after drinking with his friends who have been drinking,An accident happens and Jake loses his ability to speak.Samantha,What a brave and wonderful girl,She is so strong.I am keeping the summary short and sweet as I do not want to post spoilers. It would be like someone opening a birthday present and as you open it the gift giver tells you what it is.
Keary Taylor has written another winner. Is there anything she writes that isnt a winner?I think not. It's rare that you read the males point of view,Normally its always the female character and if not then it is back and forth. At first I was unsure how I would feel reading a males point of view,After reading this I can safely say Jake is an amazing Character and it an amazing perspective to read. I was so disappointed when it ended.I wanted to continue reading and reading about Jake and Samantha.Im an Epilogue person so I was hoping there was one but unfortunately there wasn't one.Perhaps we will be lucky enough to see a sequel?Wishful thinking on my part perhaps but the Story can easily be continued.
Overall,The book deals with some big issues.Real issues that can happen. How the Characters reacted was real no over dramatics but real down to earth teens.Keary brought all of those issues to light.Teenage Drinking, drunk driving, consequences, depression, over coming obstacles. She was able to write about these issues and not harp on them, but let them flow gently through the words.I HIGHLY suggest reading What I Didnt Say.Highly suggest it.You Will NOT be sorry.
You can purchase What I Didnt Say HERE on Amazon.

This book has me at mixed emotions.I liked it and at the same time I didnt. So this book takes place somewhere I want to say England?Im not sure exactly. In fact im not even sure how old the main characters are other then they are in high school.Becca and Liberty are the main Characters,Well the ones you read the most about. What happens is Becca seems to have gotten into trouble at school and her parents take away all of her electronic type items;i.e phone, internet etc.She has to learn to cope without them "see the world without them".
I really had issues with this book...the synopsis sounded great and I think I can see where the Author wanted to go.One of my big issues was I had a hard time with the dialogue,It was hard to follow...some of the wording was written in a way that unless you are from that neck of the woods so to speak you are unable to follow it.I felt the story at times didnt flow well.I sometimes felt as though we went from Point A to Point C prior to landing at Point B.While I enjoyed the story,Becca's constant dialogue whether it be in her head or her talking was somewhat annoying.I wanted to tell her to just take a breath!Breath girl! Her inability to talk to people was hard to read as well.It also could have used a bit more romance. The ending was cute..I'll give it that.I just felt we had to wait way to long for it to happen and the ending was rushed a bit. The Breakaway-Michelle Davidson Argyle
When Naomi Jensen is kidnapped, it takes her parents two days to realize she's missing. Escape isn't high on her list of priorities when all she has to return to is an abusive boyfriend and parents who never paid much attention to her. For the first time in her life she's part of a family-even if it is a family of criminals. But she's still a captive. In a desperate attempt to regain some control in her life, Naomi embarks on a dangerous plan to make one of her kidnappers think she's falling in love with him. The plan works too well, and when faced with the chance to escape, Naomi isn't sure she wants to take it.
**REVIEW**Possible Spoilers
Another new Author for me.When the story first takes place you meet Naomi when she is 17 and after she has been kidnapped.I was a bit surprised that Naomi did not fight her captors a bit more but then who knows what I would have done? Her mom bothered me...I don't care who you are If your child is kidnapped you do anything in your power to get them back. I have to wonder if Naomi's mother Karen had shown her some amount of affection perhaps she would have fought back and tried to escape.
During the course of the book you meet Eric,Jesse,Evelyn and Steve.Honestly as much as I wanted to be angry at Evelyn,Steve and Jessie I couldnt.Eric,Well I had my moments of liking him until he had to go and be a jerk.During this book you will read about Naomi and Jesse's relationship. You know its wrong somewhat Stockholm Syndrome but then you can't help but enjoy seeing how it is going to play out and root for Jesse and Naomi. You will also meet Karen and Jason,Naomi's parents..who lack very much at parenting and finally you will know Brad who at the time of Her Kidnapping was her boyfriend. He is that type of guy that im sure looks good but isnt the kind you would want your daughter hanging out with.Especially how he treated Naomi. There was a part in the book that I had to cheer for Naomi that involves Brad.
Overall,I seriously enjoyed this book.(Now for my not professional sounding fan girl moment). As in I could NOT put it down.As in I did NOT want it to stop.As in OH MY GOD why did you have to end it like that?I will be SORELY disappointed if there is not a sequel.Well Done Michelle Davidson Argyle.Bravo Bravo.I hope many many readers enjoy it as much as I have.

Charity Moon-DeAnna Marie Kinney
Charity Bell is eighteen, beautiful, and has an unyielding chip on her
shoulder. The loss of her father and betrayal of her stepfather have
left her angry and confident that no man will ever win her trust, or
possess her heart. She wears that declaration proudly--on her
countenance, as well as her sharp tongue.
That's all tested when the enchanting Levi Drake transfers from her rival school across town. In a town divided by intense rivalry this should mean trouble, and yet the school is quickly won over by his alluring charm. When a strange encounter with the mysterious young man leaves Charity bewildered, she's convinced he's hiding something and sets out on a dangerous plot to discover his secret. What she uncovers, however, will leave her both grasping for reality and hanging onto the tattered shreds of what's left of her declaration. As she faces the demons of her past, and present, she must decide if she can live, or die, with his.
**REVIEW**
This is a cute paranormal read with Werewolves and Vampires.Charity is 18 year old senior in high school and her chip on her shoulder involves her fathers death and her Step Father who is a evil man.Levi transfers from the school across town and imagine if you will when Edward Cullen walks into the cafeteria and you have the total girl population's reaction to Levi.Except Charity. You go girl.Make him work for it.Charity eventually learns that the world is not how she knows it,She accepts it surprisingly well.I enjoyed Charity and Levi's relationship.
Moving on,this book was very well written.Once I picked it up I was unable to put it down. There were times when I wanted to kick a certain vampires butt.I am hoping there will be a sequel to this as once it was over it was not quite over.If you want to purchase this book you can CHARITY MOON here. It is currently free as of April 29th 2012 VIA Amazon.

Moonglass-Jessi Kirby
When Anna was little, she and her mother used to search for sea glass,
but since they looked at night, they called it moonglass. Now, ten years
after her mother's mysterious death, her father is working as head
lifeguard on the same beach where her mother grew up and her parents
first met and fell in love.
Reluctant to get close to anyone (including her father) and not pleased about having to start at a new school, Anna begins to spend more time alone, running the length of the beach and wondering about who her mother really was. After meeting a lifeguard named Tyler, she slowly lets her guard down and together they start exploring the abandoned houses that dot the beach.
But when learning more about her mother's past leads to a painful discovery, Anna must reconcile her desire for solitude with ultimately accepting the love of her family and friends.
**REVIEW**Possible Spoilers
Let me start by saying I enjoyed this book.I didnt love it but I enjoyed it. In the story you find Anna and her father moving back to where her mother and father met.Her father takes a job as I want to say Park ranger type. You get the feeling that father and Daughter both practically live in the water.Anna Meets Tyler who is a lifeguard on the beach where her father works and where she lives.I kept picturing in my mind Anna looking like Kate Bosworth in Blue Crush.I loved hearing about the Moonglass in the story(I wont ruin it..you must read to find out!) and the sea glass..I would love to find some!
A few things that bothered me about the book. While reading it kept a steady pace..the entire time I kept waiting for some sort of climax.Which, while it somewhat happened towards the end it felt rushed to me.I would have liked to explore Anna and Tylers relationship a bit more.I would have loved to have had Anna spend more time with her friends. The entire book kept mentioning Mermaids so much that half expected her mother to have turned into a Mermaid..but no it turns out she was mentally ill.I also wish the author had written a bit more on mental illness or Anna coming to terms with it.
Overall an enjoyable book that made me feel like I was a part of summer. If you want to read this book you can find MOONGLASS at amazon.

Slammed-Colleen Hoover
Layken Cohen's eighteenth year is proving to be the ultimate test of her resolve.
Following the death of her father, she is forced to move across the country after the start of her senior year. Just when she thinks all hope is lost, she meets her new neighbor, Will Cooper. An intriguing twenty-one year old with a passion for Slam Poetry. Through their similar pasts, Layken and Will form an immediate and intense connection. A connection neither of them knew they needed, until they found it.
Unfortunately for Layken, the cards just aren't in her favor. She is slammed to the core when a shocking revelation proves that a relationship between the two won't work.
It can't work.
Forced to interact on a daily basis, Layken and Will struggle to find a balance between that which keeps them apart and the feelings that pull them together.
And that's only the beginning.
Slammed is a 70,000 word young adult novel that intertwines heartache with humor, desires with ethics, and ultimately proves that the harsh reality of death can sometimes be overcome by the beauty of life.

**REVIEW**
I kept hearing people talk about Slammed.Slammed this..Slammed that.I felt the need to slam a door!I kid I kid.But I digress.I read the first chapter and from there I was literally sucked in.If I had been able to go into my bedroom lock the door and have someone take care of my Minions I would have just to finish the book. However being the good parent I am I waited not so patiently for their bedtime.
Lake and Will were definitely put in one of those awkward situations.I mean come on You fall for this guy only to go to school and find he is your teacher! Its not like feelings can just be turned off like a light switch. Both Lake and Will deal with adult issues and are very mature for their age.I also fell in love with the secondary characters as well.Colleen Hoover wrote a very well written boo..I love when an Author writes a book that while I am reading Im drawn into the story so that the world outside disappears.
Finally,I feel the need to say Take a Bow..You have written an excellent book. This is write up there for me with Beautiful Disaster By Jamie Mcquire and thats a big deal in my Book.Keep on doing what you are doing!
Finally Slammed is available HERE on Amazon. Her 2nd in this Series is Called Point of Retreat once you are finished with Slammed you can Purchase Point of Retreat HERE.
I sincerely hope you take the time to read this series. Its wonderful and totally worth it.
