*COVER REVEAL* In Control By Crystal Serowka

In Control
By Crystal Serowka
Expected Release Date Oct 27 2013

I wasn’t a typical teenager.
I’d been through more rough patches than a weed eater.
I didn’t grow up behind a white picket fence.
I didn’t go to Sunday school.
My body was no temple, though it was worshiped by many.
Girls kept their boyfriends away from me for good reason.
I was desired.
Wanted.
Admired.
While my friends were following the rules, I was breaking them.
I’m careless.
Reckless.
Uncontrollable.
I don’t apologize for who I am.
I embrace it.
But all things must come to an end.
He was my new beginning.

The cover design is done by Angie Fields. Her company is called, i love it design studiohttps://www.facebook.com/iloveitdesign

Excerpt:

Bitch. Whore. Slut. Those were just a few of the names I’d been called since I began growing breasts. The boys all stared, gawking at the exposed skin above my navel. Their eyes followed the length of my bare legs, revealing their desire with a smile in my direction. No matter how hard they tried to get my attention, boys were never my thing. They were fragile. Inexperienced. Full of hope.
Girls resented my appeal, always laughing and pointing when I hopped into a different car every day after school. They never understood why I did the things I did; why I made it my mission in life to seduce men and then toss them aside like yesterday’s garbage. Instead of trying to understand, they chose to spread shameless rumors. Their jealousy never got under my skin like they were hoping it would. I loved the attention. In fact, I loved it so much that I started going after their boyfriends. The girls had no idea that whatever name they called me, whatever they wrote on my locker, it wasn’t ever going to bother me. I had been shattered a long time ago, and the shards of my former self were so sharp nothing else could ever harm me.
I’d been thrown away; kicked to the curb like I was the stray mongrel no one wanted. I let my guard down too many times to count and promised myself that I’d never be vulnerable again.
I was never any good at keeping promises.
His lips touched my neck, bringing me back to the moment. Wren lay next to me, his skin melting against mine. A drop of sweat fell onto my lips and I tasted the saltiness of our exertion. I’d been in this bed so many times now that I knew the softest spots on the mattress. I’d memorized the smell of Wren’s pillow, the delicate fabric bursting with the scent of cedarwood and vanilla. It was October when I first visited his home, and now, with the trees dressed in bright green, I lay here in his bed, my head and heart at odds. I wanted to be with Wren, but the one time I had allowed a label to represent how I felt, I had been betrayed.
I studied his bare chest, my fingers roaming over the patches of freckles.
“Making constellations again?” he asked, resting on his elbows to watch my busy fingers.
“Just Perseus.”
“You’re the first person that’s ever pointed that out.”
“That’s probably because all of your other girlfriends were dumb as rocks and didn’t know a thing about constellations,” I retorted.
Wren laughed quietly, not denying my words. We never discussed exes, and I was happy about that. Explaining Porter to someone who was the complete opposite of him would be an impossible task.
We lay in silence, my fingers not wanting to leave his skin. We’d been in Wren’s bed since this morning, and I could have stayed wrapped in his embrace forever. Tangled in his blood red sheets, I was safe from the evil that lurked outside. In this bed, I couldn’t run into anyone from my past.
“Think we should get up? We can grab some food before I head to Jay’s.” Wren turned on his side, his fingers leisurely roaming my skin. His effortless touch made my insides tremble, forcing me to take a few calming breaths.
I hated leaving him. I hated that I was slowly becoming one of those girls. The kind of girl that had nothing else to talk about but the guy they were dating. The kind that became so obsessed with her boyfriend, she scheduled her whole life around him. I wasn’t that kind of girl. I couldn’t possibly be turning into one.
“You already had me for breakfast and lunch, might as well fill up on me for dinner, too,” I suggested, knowing it would keep him from leaving.
A devious grin formed on Wren’s lips. “Suddenly I’m starving.”
In a matter of seconds, he was on top of me, trapping my arms and legs with his own. Typically, I liked being in control, but once in awhile it was fun to act helpless.
“You’ve got me pinned, now what?” I fixed my eyes on his, concentrating on the chills that were shooting through my body.
His eyes met mine only for a moment before traveling to our linked fingers. His grasp tightened, bringing our arms higher above my head. Wren’s jaw set and I knew my submissiveness had turned him on.
He leaned down near my ear and whispered, “Now I fuck you so hard you forget your name.”
I exhaled, waiting for him to make his move. Wren began teasing me, his fingers exploring the curves of my body, making a point not to touch me anywhere that would put me over the edge. He caressed my upper thigh slowly, then the back of my leg. His tongue grazed my earlobe and my stomach clenched in anticipation, craving so much more than what he was giving.
“Fuck me already,” I demanded.
“No.”
It wasn’t just his calm and collected answer that almost drove me to the edge. It was in his light kisses, his fingers brushing back curls from my face, and the way he blinked slowly as he took me in. I exhaled again, anxiously waiting to see which part of my body he’d set on fire first.
“Spread your legs,” he whispered, his breath teasing my earlobe.
I quickly conceded and felt the softness of his fingers stroke the inside of my thigh. Between the motion of his hand and knowing what was coming next, I was ready for him. Two fingers slowly slid inside of me and our eyes locked together, filling me with a hunger I’d never experienced. From the very first night, Wren had instinctively known the most sensitive parts of my body. He understood it better than anyone ever had, and his touch always left me begging for more.
“Please tell me this isn’t all I’m getting?” The edge in my voice made him remove his hands from my skin.
“Keep talking, Kingsley, and this is all you’ll be getting.”
It took everything in me to bite my tongue, swallowing my snappy comeback.
“Good girl.” He pulled me onto his lap, and the rough hair on his jaw grated against my shoulder, leaving a pleasing sting in its wake. “Put your legs around me,” he ordered. His fingers knotted through my hair, pulling my head back and exposing my neck to his lips. Wren’s tongue trailed the skin of my throat, slowly moving toward my ear. “Plan’s changed. Now you’re going to fuck me.”
“What if I don’t want to?”
Without answering my question, Wren pulled my face to his, forcing his tongue inside my mouth. I sat up on my knees and guided him inside me, watching as his somber expression disappeared. He cupped my ass, pushing our bodies closer together, filling me even more. I yelled out his name like we were the only two people left in the world.
“Fuck, Kingsley…” he groaned.
Leaning back on my hands, I began to move my hips along to a silent beat in my head. Back and forth, up and down. I bit down on my bottom lip with enough force that a small trickle of blood seeped into my mouth, leaving behind the faint taste of salt and metal.
Wren pulled me back into his chest, our bodies trembling from head to toe. It was in those last few seconds when every nerve ending in my body felt like it was going to explode; it was then that I felt closest to him.

My heart was beating so fiercely, I felt the cool mattress beneath me tremble with its force. Wren’s hand found mine in the rustled sheets, squeezing it twice. The comfortable silence we shared was a new experience for me. I turned on my side, studying his shadowed profile; the perfect slope of his nose, his lips half-parted with short breaths leaving his mouth. He had cheekbones that were so high, even I was envious. But his eyes were my favorite part, dark and tempting. They reminded me of the rich chocolate cake I always longed to taste, of whiskey on the rocks... His eyes expressed his feelings even before he had a chance to say them out loud.

.*REVIEW*Pride's Prejudice By Misty Dawn Pulsipher

Beth Pride really can’t stand William Darcy: he snubbed her at the Hartford College Children’s Benefit Auction; he has an infuriating propensity for pushing her buttons; his actions are frequently at odds with his words; and even his melting chocolate eyes and impressive physique don’t quite make up for his deficient personality.

Beth’s plan to avoid William backfires when her roommate falls for his best friend. As the unlikely duo are thrown together time and again, Beth begins to second guess her earlier assumptions about William.

Will Pride’s prejudice keep her from a happy ending, or will Beth discover that first impressions aren’t always what they seem?

Based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

First and foremost If there is a book that is based on Pride and Prejudice I have read it.I've made sure of that.At least I thought I had. Then I find Pride's Prejudice.I LOVED this take on Pride and Prejudice. It is similar and yet at the same time different.I LOVED that it didn't necessarily follow the same lines of every single remake.I LOVED that the characters were in college.I LOVED it.Notice a trend here? This was such a fresh take on this remake.I look forward to reading more work from Misty Dawn Pulsipher.I was literally glued to my kindle for hours.William,is a guy that sometimes does things in his head that seem right and then when a woman see's them its totally opposite.Im sure the story for most males in the world.Beth and William are both great characters and the secondary characters were on point.I cannot express how much I loved this story. Can I Beg you to write some more Jane Austen remakes?Pretty Please with a cherry on top?

LOST BOY

Release Date July 25th 2013

This is the companion novel to The Lonely. It is recommended you read that first. This is HIS POV on the events and how they came to be, how he came to be a LOST BOY.

Being the boy who accidentally shot his sister was hard.
Never being able to find the girl who actually pulled the trigger was worse.
Convinced, through years of relentless therapy, that she was a figment of his trauma and imagination, Eli Adams gave up on her existence.
Until one day a name, bearing remarkable resemblance to the people missing in his life, showed up out of nowhere.
Suddenly he was thrust into a journey that forced him to offer up his soul as payment for the truth.
What he discovered along the way, was that the girl who took his sister's life and his hand, all those years ago, had become the thing he needed to be whole.
Saving her was one thing.
Healing her was another.
Convincing her to love him will be the toughest part of it all.

How's that for my 90's cheerleader inner self?Tara Brown has written yet another winner.Lost Boy is the companion Novel to The Lonely. It is from Eli's Point of View and should only be read after you read The Lonely.I normally am not a huge fan of these type of books, meaning rewriting the same book in the Males POV.But this is one of those times where I make an exception. In fact,I truly encourage anyone thats read The Lonely to read it and if you haven't read The Lonely..then what the heck are you waiting for?
Lost Boy is just as gritty as The Lonely obviously. But its edgier since we are dealing with Eli.We also were able to see more of Stuart which I really enjoyed getting to know him better as well.As with all books that are rewritten from the other main characters Point of View..we know what will happen and yet I still found myself worried.I kept telling myself..Self..you know what happens. You've read The Lonely. You know what happens.Well Self wasnt listening very well and was still worried about Eli and Sarah.
This is one of those..can I call it a series?..That will blow you out of the water.Im serious. When I see the books they make into movies..im like Why hasn't Tara Brown been contacted? Her books are A-FREAKING AMAZING.Tara Brown honestly has never disappointed me in anything she has written. She is one of the select few authors that I hold close that is able to mesmerize me with their writing.Tara has written other wonderful books that you should check out as well!

View the book trailer for Project ELE!

Millions have already died, and thousands more are perishing daily. As a last ditch effort to preserve the human race, the government implements Project ELE. With the earth heating at rapid speeds, all remaining survivors are forced to turn to F.E.M.A. shelters to wait out ELE's wrath.

Fifteen-year-old Willow Mosby's life, as she knows it, ends the moment she walks through the shelter's door. Willow has to quickly adapt to the new challenges that shelter life demands, which includes making new friends and working a full time job.

Soon after making an interesting discovery, Willow and her friends start exhibiting strange abilities. Seeking answers, they embark on a mission to find out what these new abilities mean and whether they are a gift or a curse.

This new adventure can send her world crashing down around her. The question is: Can Willow survive the fall?

From the best selling authors of Night Marchers comes a new apocalyptic series with a paranormal twist.

Creating ELE Guest Post
Courtney and I have been best friends since the 6th grade. We took that friendship to a new level in October 2011 when we decided to partner together to write our first novel, Night Marchers. Little did we know that a year and a half later we would have six books under our belt, two of which have hit best selling status on Amazon and we would have opened our own publishing company!

The ELE Series has become our favorite journey through writerdom yet! We've been asked what inspired us to create this series, and to be honest there are a number of factors that led us to create the world around Project ELE.

After reading The Hunger Games trilogy as well as a few of our other favorite dystopian genre novels, we knew that we wanted to try out a futuristic setting for our next quest. We played around with several different ideas and all of them kept coming back to a heroine with amazing powers who would eventually learn to kick bad-guy-butt. We also came to the agreement that we wanted to have a series that starts at the beginning of an apocalyptic event as opposed to the aftermath in the future after such an event had occurred. After many Skype dates in search of the perfect plot, we ended up blending two of our ideas together. Courtney had some awesome ideas about immunizations gone wrong and I had written a short story for an anthology about a world in the future where everyone has a special power. We smooshed the two ideas together, added a strong heroic female lead who is still very much a teenager and BAM, we had the ingredients for making The ELE Series.

Currently the ELE Series consists of four novels: Project ELE (which is FREE), Finding ELE, Exposing ELE and our most recent release- Surviving ELE. We've been asked how many books will be in this series. We honestly don't have an answer to that yet. Willow's story hasn't been fully told, so there will be at least one to two more books that follow up after Surviving ELE. Currently we are working on the fifth book in the series that is tentatively called Ending ELE. We hope to release this book between June and July this year. We are also working on a novella called: ELE, which will show all of our main characters before they were forced to head towards the shelters. We figured this inside scoop would be an exciting edition for our fans and a sort of prologue to Project ELE.

For more information on our ELE Series, check out the book descriptions below. We hope you will take a chance and download Project ELE today.

Excerpt #1
At thirteen, I was too old for most people to consider adopting. No matter how hard Mary looked, she couldn’t find me a foster home. I went from having everything to having nothing. My parents weren’t well off. They were just your average middle-income family with a mortgage. Once the house was sold and all the debts were paid, I wasn’t left with much. There was just enough money to buy a second-hand car when I was old enough and two suitcases full of personal possessions, including a few photo albums. That was all my thirteen years of life added up to: two suitcases.

My first few weeks at Abbott’s were probably the worst of my life. I spent my days just going through the motions at school. At night, I would cry in bed until sleep finally claimed me. After about three weeks of feeling as if I was drowning in a never-ending pit of despair, I met Anthony. I felt the bed dip behind me one night as I was lying on my side and sobbing particularly hard. I was so upset I didn’t immediately register that it meant someone was lying with me. Then I felt an arm wrap around me and heard a soothing voice in my ear telling me everything was going to be okay.

When I woke up the following morning, I rolled over to see just who had climbed into bed with me. A skinny boy with short brown hair grinned at me.

“Anthony Scott.” He held his hand out.

“Elise Morgan,” I replied. “Thanks for last night.”

“Ain’t nothing.”

We talked for a little while longer, getting to know one another. Anthony was the same age as me, but had been at Abbott’s since he was six. His parents were drug addicts, which caused his removal from their care. After telling him how sorry I was that had happened, I explained my story. It was still so hard to talk about, but I got through it and only cried a little bit.

After that day, Anthony and I were inseparable. We were the best of friends. We did everything together. When I tried ballet, he did too, no matter how much teasing he got from the other boys. When he took up guitar, so did I, even though I sucked at it. Barely a day went by that we didn’t see or speak to each other at least a hundred times. I doubt I would have survived my teenage years if it weren’t for my best friend.

Though the days were fairly easy to survive, the nights were always tough. Curled up in bed alone, the reality would hit the hardest. Memories of families lost and dreams of what could have been plagued each of our thoughts. We spent many a night in each other’s beds providing comfort. Those were always the nights I slept best.

For five years, it was Anthony and me against the world.

All that changed senior year. Anthony and I had both been working toward Cornell. We were in all the same AP classes and had the same GPA. We both applied for scholarships, knowing that was the only way we’d ever get to go to college. When I got a scholarship and he didn’t, reality came crashing down around us. I told him I wasn’t going without him, that it had been our dream. Anthony, always the strong one, told me I needed to go follow my dreams, that I deserved to go to Cornell, and he wasn’t going to let me waste my one chance to get the hell out of San Francisco.

After graduation, we agreed to have one last hoorah over the summer before heading off on our separate paths. We had the best time. We found a little apartment in the city. It was really only big enough for one person, but since it would just be Anthony’s apartment come fall, I didn’t mind it being a bit cramped.

We did everything we ever wanted to do together that summer. We visited museums and art galleries, rode the cable cars, and spent hours upon hours running around Fisherman’s Wharf. We even went to the beach and the zoo.

All the while, our separation loomed. It was constantly present in our thoughts, as if we knew it was going to be our last summer together. We were heading in two different directions come September and might never see one another again.

REVIEW
4 STARS

I was give an ARC for an honest Review.

When I first started this review I thought I was reading a Young Adult book. But I quickly found out it is indeed NOT a Young Adult book.It was really good just not what I expected. This was a pretty quick read for me.It starts off with Elise having to go into Foster Care due to a family tragedy and there she meets Anthony. They become best friends and continue throughout their lives even though they are seperated for years.Life In Suitcases is a decent paced Novella. At times I felt it was a bit to fast and would have liked an extra chapter of mundane things to slow it down. There were a few grammatical and spelling errors but nothing that would ruin the story. If you are looking for a great xoming of age novella to read then Life In Suitcases by Melissa Kendall is for you!

*REVIEW* Born By Tara Brown

Born By Tara Brown
Pub Date Sept 13 2012

"It's us and them, Em. There are no regular people anymore."

Ten years ago when the world ended she ran for her life.

Five weeks ago the world she'd hidden from came knocking on the door of her secluded cabin.

Ten days ago she found salvation hiding amongst the dead.

Yesterday she went back for the living.

Today she wonders if she will live to see tomorrow.

What do you do when the world you were born to is gone?

Where do you hide when even your own body isn't safe?

Emma ran when her daddy told her to. She hid like he said she should. He was the first person she turned her back on. The first one she let die.
Ten years has gone by and she still lives by the simple rules he taught her when she was nine years old.

"Don't help anyone. Don't go where other people are unless you have to. Trust no one. Always pull the trigger."

Until one night she hears the worst sound in the world, a knock. A simple, timid knock, on the door to her cabin.
Only the voice of the brave little girl, ready to die for her brother, persuades Emma to open the door.
As her fingers turn the lock, she has a terrible feeling she will regret her decision.
But even as regret fills her world, so do love and companionship. Things she never imagined she would ever have again.

Everything comes at a cost, you decide what you'll pay.

Finding Hope By Krystal Shannan Blog Tour Stop with Giveaway!

Warning: The plot thickens with a passel of pissed off Olympians. Ares and Aphrodite are in for a double dose of trouble! More Olympians join the mix in Finding Hope: Pool of Souls Book 2. A jewel addict, a kick-ass possibly-virgin huntress, and an insatiable ancient oracle are just a few. But don’t worry; Ares and Aphrodite are still front and center.

Addison Connelly has given up on men. She is disappointed yet again when her best friend tries to play matchmaker, and the match falls flat…or does it? Her friend knows all Addison needs is a chance, a little hope, and maybe a dropkick in the right direction. With an extra push from Aphrodite, will this lonely soul learn to trust again? Or will she run from the only man who could make her happy?

Adrian Colter, Nashville Police Detective and certifiable bachelor, puts his foot in his mouth in a big way when his roommate’s fiancé tries to match him up with her best friend. After making a horrible first impression, can he earn the trust of a woman who won’t speak a civil word to him?

Adrian isn’t the only one trying to earn the trust of a beautiful woman. While Ares fights to rebuild the trust he lost thousands of years ago with the Goddess of Love, his parents do what they do best —show off their greed and selfishness. Will he find the hope and forgiveness he so desperate seeks or will his parents destroy his chance at happiness?

(I was given a copy of Finding Hope for an honest review)
What a great read!I love reading about Gods and Goddesses and Krystal wrote an amazing take on it.I fell in love with Addison and Adrian. The fact that it went back and forth between the Aphrodite and the rest was even better. This is definitely a 18+ read as there are some very sexy scenes.I did read this book without reading book 1 and was able to keep up fine.I really don't want to give away any spoilers in this review so I will just say that this is a must read!I look forward to reading more of Krystals Books!

Reveal Summary:

You think seeing ghosts is weird? Tell me something I don't know.
My childhood best friend Jeremy happens to be a ghost.
My life is a puzzle, and the biggest piece missing has been my dad. Since his disappearance when I was six it's been tough, but Jeremy has been by my side through it all.
But now Jeremy has gone missing too and I feel like I'm never going to get all the answers I've been looking for.
Fate intervenes when Hugh, a real live college beefcake, starts taking an interest in me. He divulges that he also shares my little "gift" of seeing the dead and I know I'm finally getting closer to finding all the pieces.
However, the more the puzzle is completed, the more questions I have.
Senior year is hard enough as it is, but clearly I like a challenge.

When you're being chased, one piece of advice... run.

Now that I'm learning the extent of my gifts I know how to
defend myself so instead of running it's time to face my fears. I'm not going
to let bullies ruin my summer.

I'm going to make some friends to help defend the keep.
Friends like me. It's definitely time to expand my circle, so let's include a
Mothman, a Harpy and some other fairy tale creatures. Because my life is a
fairy tale, right? Not so much.

One thing is for sure, whether I'm running or fighting, I'm
in for the battle of my life.
