Title: Until You (Fall Away, #1.5)
Author: Penelope Douglas
Add to GoodReads: http://tinyurl.com/k4se7yu
Release Date: Fall 2013

Synopsis:

Have you ever been so angry that hitting things felt good? Or so numb that you actually felt high? The past few years have been like that for me. Traveling between fury and indifference with no stops in between.

Some people hate me for it, while others are scared of me. But none of them can hurt me, because I don’t care about anything or anyone.

Except Tatum.

I love her so much that I hate her. We used to be friends, but I found out that I couldn't trust her or anyone else.

So I hurt her. I pushed her away.

But I still need her. The sight of her centers me, and I can pool all of my anger into her. Engaging her, challenging her, bullying her…they are my food, my air, and the last part of me that feels anything human.

But she left. She went to France for a year, and came back a different girl.

Now, when I push, she pushes back.

Excerpt:

Thank you for today, Becky. It means a lot that you came with us.”
“I didn’t have much choice, Jack. Adam damn near had a nervous breakdown. I’d appreciate it if you’d have a talk with him and tell him that even if we’re not together, we still love him.”
“Becky, you’ve got to know that it’s his enthusiasm that keeps me going. If he still believes that we can work it out, then I believe that we can work it out. Do you understand? As long as he has hope, then so don’t I,” Jack told her.
She turned sideways and looked into his grey eyes. “Jack, we had our chance and it didn’t work. You chose comfort in someone else’s arms. I know that after all this time, it’s hard to imagine a life without us together, but I think you need to realize that is exactly where we are headed. I loved you, Jack. Somewhere along the way the love stopped. Somewhere I stopped being the person you came to for talking, and sharing, and  laughing. We were broken before Brian died. His senseless death was just the final straw. I lost myself somewhere along the way. I stopped caring enough about myself to realize
how damaged we really were. I surrounded myself with the kids and you with your job. It hasn’t been a marriage in a very long time. The kids will be grown soon, and what will we have left?”
Jack reached for her hand. “We’d have a new beginning. We’d have a chance to rediscover why we fell in love in the first place. We could travel; I could build that koi pond I always promised. We could have another baby.”
Rebecca laughed.
“I seriously hope you are joking. How is it that you go from where we are now to having a baby?”
“I have made many mistakes, but those kids are the only thing that I have done right. I’d be a better father, a better husband. You can’t tell me that you don’t look at Layla Grace and wish you had another one?”
“Everyone loves babies. It doesn’t mean that you and I having another one will fix us. I don’t know if I could ever trust you again.”
“How do you think I feel? Knowing your best friend works a few doors down from the man you’ve been having a fling with.”
“It’s more than a fling, Jack. He’s talking future plans.”
Jack downed his glass of wine and stood up.
“Then where is he?”
“He left town.”
“Ha. Why? He couldn’t handle the heat of competition?”

Rebecca stood up.
“That’s just the thing, Jack. To you, it’s a competition. I think the only reason you are even trying to do this is because you know someone else has feelings for me. If I wasn’t seeing someone, you’d still be running around with someone like Amber.”
He stood only inches from her, pulled up his sleeve, and pointed to his shoulder. What does each and every tattoo on my body represent? I have how we met and our first date. I have our wedding and the birth of the kids. Each tattoo flows into the next. It wouldn’t make much sense to someone else, but with you, you know each and every picture. You know what each one represents. It is our story; the story of us. I still have plenty of room to keep going. I don’t want our story to stop. I want to tell our grandkids our stories someday.”
Rebecca started to cry. His words were cutting deep. He was telling her all the things that she wished he would have told her when it mattered the most. Jack got down on one knee. He held her hand in his and looked deep into her chocolate eyes.
“I have loved you for almost two decades, Becky. We were bound to hit a few snags along the way, but we can only learn to grow from our mistakes. I realize that you are the only one for me. I will never love anyone the way I love you. You are
my past, present, and future. You are my heart and my soul. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Marry me, again.” A tear fell from the corner of his eye. She felt as though she were going to pass out. She never imagined that he’d be sitting here now,
doing this.
Her tears were not tears of happiness, but tears of the past, tears of the years she had felt neglected and alone. They were tears for the years she had woken with the crying babies while he couldn’t be bothered. She cried for the years she felt like a single parent

because his work always took top priority to him. She cried for all the empty holidays when it felt as though he never wanted to be there. She fell to her seat and held her head in her hands.

*REVIEW* Tripping Me Up By Amber Garza

Tripping Me Up
By Amber Garza
I may not have special powers, but sometimes I think I'm invisible. No one in my high school seems to notice me at all. When they finally do it's because the popular Tripp Bauer accidently smacks me in the face with a wad of paper. Talk about humiliating.
Only now he keeps talking to me. At first it was to apologize, and I figured once I forgave him he'd go away. But he doesn't, and now my feelings for him are starting to grow. And that scares me.
Guys like Tripp Bauer don't fall for girls like me. Or do they?

I Liked this story. It was really cute.I think the summary for the book is good but I think Tripping Me Up will really surprise you and then once you read the book You will understand why.Hadley is a very cute character.I wish she had a bit more confidence but then at that age I believe I was just like her so I can totally relate.I love being able to fully relate to a character.Tripp is every girls high school dream.Who doesn't want the most popular boy to take interest in you when you are both on totally different spectrum's of the social sphere? What grabbed me is how Amber Garza made it so that while Tripp is number one in school he is dealing with some serious issues at home that no one knows about. When he finally comes clean Hadley is there for him in all the ways that matter.Truly loved this story.Job Well done Amber!

.*REVIEW*Pride's Prejudice By Misty Dawn Pulsipher

Beth Pride really can’t stand William Darcy: he snubbed her at the Hartford College Children’s Benefit Auction; he has an infuriating propensity for pushing her buttons; his actions are frequently at odds with his words; and even his melting chocolate eyes and impressive physique don’t quite make up for his deficient personality.

Beth’s plan to avoid William backfires when her roommate falls for his best friend. As the unlikely duo are thrown together time and again, Beth begins to second guess her earlier assumptions about William.

Will Pride’s prejudice keep her from a happy ending, or will Beth discover that first impressions aren’t always what they seem?

Based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

First and foremost If there is a book that is based on Pride and Prejudice I have read it.I've made sure of that.At least I thought I had. Then I find Pride's Prejudice.I LOVED this take on Pride and Prejudice. It is similar and yet at the same time different.I LOVED that it didn't necessarily follow the same lines of every single remake.I LOVED that the characters were in college.I LOVED it.Notice a trend here? This was such a fresh take on this remake.I look forward to reading more work from Misty Dawn Pulsipher.I was literally glued to my kindle for hours.William,is a guy that sometimes does things in his head that seem right and then when a woman see's them its totally opposite.Im sure the story for most males in the world.Beth and William are both great characters and the secondary characters were on point.I cannot express how much I loved this story. Can I Beg you to write some more Jane Austen remakes?Pretty Please with a cherry on top?

This is the companion novel to The Lonely. It is recommended you read that first. This is HIS POV on the events and how they came to be, how he came to be a LOST BOY.

Never being able to find the girl who actually pulled the trigger was worse.

How's that for my 90's cheerleader inner self?Tara Brown has written yet another winner.Lost Boy is the companion Novel to The Lonely. It is from Eli's Point of View and should only be read after you read The Lonely.I normally am not a huge fan of these type of books, meaning rewriting the same book in the Males POV.But this is one of those times where I make an exception. In fact,I truly encourage anyone thats read The Lonely to read it and if you haven't read The Lonely..then what the heck are you waiting for?
Lost Boy is just as gritty as The Lonely obviously. But its edgier since we are dealing with Eli.We also were able to see more of Stuart which I really enjoyed getting to know him better as well.As with all books that are rewritten from the other main characters Point of View..we know what will happen and yet I still found myself worried.I kept telling myself..Self..you know what happens. You've read The Lonely. You know what happens.Well Self wasnt listening very well and was still worried about Eli and Sarah.
This is one of those..can I call it a series?..That will blow you out of the water.Im serious. When I see the books they make into movies..im like Why hasn't Tara Brown been contacted? Her books are A-FREAKING AMAZING.Tara Brown honestly has never disappointed me in anything she has written. She is one of the select few authors that I hold close that is able to mesmerize me with their writing.Tara has written other wonderful books that you should check out as well!

AUTHOR BIO

Melissa Andrea

I find it hard to sum up my life in a paragraph, but I’ll try.

I am the author of Flutter, The Discover Series! Reading has always been a passion for me, and writing as instinctive as breathing. Every inhale is an idea; every exhale a creation.  The only thing I do better than writing you ask? Making beautiful girls. My daughter’s will always be my greatest accomplishment.

I was born in Denver, Colorado–but I will always think of sunny Arizona as my home. I don’t have a big family, but I’m close with my sister, brother & my mom. My mom is my hero, my inspiration, and I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing person to be raised by.

4 things you should know about me: I’m very girly, but I can get down and dirty with the best of them. I adore the color pink and things that sparkle (including vampires), I am a firm believer that chocolate cures ALL and I like even numbers (hence 4 things about me, not 5) Okay, maybe I cheated a little with my list, shhhh.

EXCERPT

“I’m afraid I’m going to have this hanging on my conscious all day now.” he teased.
“That only seems fair.”
“Yes it does, but I have a better suggestion.” his voice slid over my skin like silk.
“Better for whom?”
“Go out with me.”
His proposal stunned me for a second and then I found my voice.
“So better for you?”
“I like to think of it as a mutual enjoyment.”
“I fail to see how.”
He shifted, and his breath hit my face in warm puffs. “Go out with me and I’ll show you.”

SIGH.REALLY BIG SIGH.BIG SMILE...SIGH AGAIN.Im a bit giddy right now so bear with me.Fighting Fate is irresistibly amazing. Its one of those books that grabs you and sucks you in.Fighting Fate is the story of Forgiveness,Redemption,Love, growth and so much more.It is the story of how two people horribly affected by tragedy, that are attracted to each other deal with it.
Fighting Fate blew me away.Seriously.I was literally attached to the book from start to finish.Putting it down was not an option.Linda has the amazing ability to write some very emotionally believable characters.Paige and Logan are two people who you feel anguish over and  who you just honestly want to wrap them both up in a very big hug.As always Linda has excellent character development.Paige is an amazing character. For her to go through what she has gone through,be able to forgive and find love in someone that caused a major tragedy in her life,She is such a strong person.Logan,Poor Logan. The guilt he lives with day to day is a very hard burden to bear.I absolutely love the basis for this book and Linda Kage pulled it off.She went over and beyond with this story.I have to say there was a major event towards the end of the book that I did guess correctly. That was really hard to read about, but again Logan was willing to sacrifice himself for Paige.I also want to say Thank you for the Epilogue.I love Epilogues..except I really want more of Paige and Logan. Please? With a cherry on top?Linda Kage has done an amazing job with Fighting Fate.I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Its one of those books you do NOT want to miss!

Oh and Im so in LOVE with this cover..its simple yet striking.LOVE IT!

From the author of the “real page-turner” (SeventeenSuch a Rush comes an unforgettable new drama that follows friends-turned-lovers as they navigate the passions, heartbreaks, and intrigue of country music fame.

Bailey wasn’t always a wild child and the black sheep of her family. She used to play fiddle and tour the music circuit with her sister, Julie, who sang and played guitar. That ended when country music execs swooped in and signed Julie to a solo deal. Never mind that Julie and Bailey were a duet, or that Bailey was their songwriter. The music scouts wanted only Julie, and their parents were content to sit by and let her fulfill her dreams while Bailey’s were hushed away.

Bailey has tried to numb the pain and disappointment over what could have been. And as Julie’s debut album is set to hit the charts, her parents get fed up with Bailey’s antics and ship her off to granddad’s house in Nashville. Playing fiddle in washed-up tribute groups at the mall, Bailey meets Sam, a handsome and oh-so-persuasive guitarist with his own band. He knows Bailey’s fiddle playing is just the thing his band needs to break into the industry. But this life has broken Bailey’s heart once before. She isn’t sure she’s ready to let Sam take her there again…

I was given an ARC for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of Jennifer Echols. She is always an author I can count on to write a great book.Dirty Little Secret is the story of Bailey who was part of a musical duo,but only her sister was signed to a music deal and her parents pretty much stopped caring about her.She went to live with her Granddad and he was able to get her a job in the mall playing music where she meets Sam.Thus embroiling her back into the music world her parents no longer want her to be a part of.

Im going to be honest.I loved Jennifer Echols books.I always get so excited when I see she has released a new book or one will be forthcoming, that this one somewhat threw me for a loop.It didn't feel like it was up to Jennifers normal writing.I had a incredibly hard time understanding Sam and why he did what he did.It felt like he was all over the place.Things happened pretty quickly in the book as well that it was almost happening too fast.I wanted the book to slow down a bit so I could figure out what was going on with Bailey and Sam.I feel like I didn't get as good of a grasp on Sam as I could have because the fact that he dated alot was brought up so much. There was one part in the book where Bailey and Sam have a huge moment and it happened so fast that I literally had to re-read it to make sure I didnt miss anything.I just didnt feel like this one had the same zing as Jennifers books normally do.I do love the cover and I love the basis of the book.I think if maybe a few things were slowed down and some things were perhaps delved into a bit more it would be a 5 star book in my eyes.

She doesn’t know why it appeared on her neck, but she doesn’t want anyone to see it, including her best friend Ryland, who knows everything else about her. The scar is the reason she hides herself behind baggy clothes, and won’t let the idea of kissing Ryland enter her mind, no matter how much she wants to.
The scar is the reason she is being hunted.
If only she knew that she was.
If only she had known that the cursed stone her estranged father sent for her 16th birthday would trigger a change in her. Now, she is being stalked by a tall blonde man, and is miraculously throwing her high school bully ten feet in the air.
Joclyn attempts to find some answers and the courage to follow her heart. When Ryland finds her scar; but he knows what it means, and who will kill her because of it.

Eyes of Ember Blurb:

Joclyn is in hiding, hunted by the man she still desperately loves. Ryland is gone, his mind erased; no memory of Joclyn remains, but Joclyn’s heart desperately begs her to hold out hope. Meanwhile the black-eyed monster that possesses him attempts to kill her over and over again.

If it wasn’t for Ilyan, Joclyn would be dead by now.

Ilyan, the man who once stalked her, is now Joclyn’s protector, the only person she has left. He protects Joclyn from the men who seek to end her life, and all the while, she is haunted by dreams where Ryland begs her to break the bond between them.

Ilyan is there. Always there.

Ilyan trains and prepares her, teaching her everything she needs to know in the hope that one day she can avenge Ryland, if not protect herself from him.

And then, there is her father.

The man who has never been there is suddenly responsible for everything. And who he is has made Joclyn into something she never wanted to be:

The Silnỳ.

Scorched Treachery Blurb
While Joclyn is trapped in the tormenting hell of Cail’s mind, the battle around her only continues to grow and spread.
*
Edmund has infiltrated the underground hallways of Prague, guiding the massacre that would end the lives of the last of the great magical race. In her attempts to stop him, Wynifred has been captured and her magic restrained. Chained up in the ancient dungeons of Prague, her fate is left in the hands of her father, who has tried to kill her before.
With Ryland’s screams and Sain’s fragmented sights as her only company, Wyn must rely on something that has been hidden deep inside of her for centuries to help them break free.
 *
Ilyan’s whole life has been building up to one purpose. Protect the Silnỳ. He knows what he must do, and he has no doubt in his ability to do so.
But when his father’s magic removes Joclyn’s mind from her body, he is left protecting the shell of the one person he loves. Desperate to find a way to break her free of her prison, he makes a choice. And that one choice changes everything.
Now, Ilyan finds himself bound to Joclyn in a way that he never knew to be possible. They say that blood is thicker than water, but Black Water burns, and Ilyan’s heart may not be strong enough to keep the water pumping through his veins and give the girl he loves back into his brother’s care.

Through Glass

Everyone remembers the day the sky went black. They remember the screams as the blackness ate those who were out in the open, those who surrounded themselves by light, and those who made noise.
Everyone remembers the voice from the sky, the way food disappeared.
Everyone remembers the day the sky went black, and the sun was wiped from the sky.
At least that’s what I hope. I hope that there is an ‘everyone’ that will remember.
I hope that I am not alone.
Because I remember.
I remember, because it was the day I became alone.
It was the day the house went silent, and the birds stopped singing. It was the day when everyone disappeared, everyone except the boy, the only person I have seen in two years.
The boy I talk to through the glass.
