*Happy Release Day* A Long Time Coming By Heather Van Fleet

Title: A Long Time Coming
Genre: Contemporary New Adult Novel
Publisher: Sunshine Press
Blurb:

Abigail Orson has a problem. A love problem to be precise; and she has absolutely no idea how to go about fixing it.
For years now, she has been chasing her best friend’s brother—demanding things from him that he’s never wanted to give. For one? A real relationship that surpasses well beyond that dreaded ‘just friends’ zone. You see, David Anderson is her idea of perfection to a T. The one and only guy who has ever had the ability to make her heart beat faster; make her toes curl with the simple blink of his long, girly lashes. But David is also a recovering amputee, and the only thing he really wants from Abigail is to be left alone. Abigail is a fighter though, and losing the one guy who has ruined her for every other is no longer an option.
A guy with one leg who has lost his motivation to live—to love—to actually be a man. David believes he’s a waste of space. If only the beautiful girl of his unattainable dreams would get that through her perfect, blonde, stubborn head! He’s not the right guy for Abigail. He’ll never be worthy of what she deserves. However, staying away is almost impossible, especially when he’s just as in love with her as she is with him. But Abigail has a life ahead of her, one that’s definitely livable without a nineteen–year–old gimp like him holding her down. What makes her want to stick around is beyond questionable to David’s mind.
Choices will be made. Lines will be drawn. And together, they will face challenges that nobody saw coming. David and Abigail may have had almost fourteen years to fall in love, but the thing is, timing and love have never exactly worked in their favor.
It has been years in the making, and definitely A Long Time Coming for David and Abigail. Let’s hope they don’t screw it up before they actually have the chance to get it right…

Excerpt
She spun around, nibbling on her lip, grabbing both of his hands as she pulled him slowly along with her. Her eyes were so focused and shiny that he barely remembered his own name, let alone what he was about to say.
“No crutches, David.”
They made it to the edge of the floor, just as the tempo of the music slowed, to that of a seductive, rhythmic beat. She pulled his hands towards her, and he took that non–verbal command, wrapping his arms around her waist. His fingers knew just what to do, settling into the curves of her body right above her perfect ass. Those damn traitorous body parts had a mind of their own.
“I won’t let you fall…” she whispered in his ear, running her fingers through the back of his hair like a vixen who he wanted to steal away forever, only, though, so he could lock her up with him in the backseat of her car again.
Shit …it wasn’t the fear of falling that worried him. Oh no…it was the fear of never wanting to let her go again.

MY REVIEW

4 STARS

I liked how A.J Bennett writes this story.I really cannot say though that I like Grayson .This is the story of Grayson who is finally free from her abusive ex.She decides she doesnt want a relationship but a bunch of flings and lots of sex.First off let me say I personally  don't like when female Main characters have sex with multiple people. So that was a bit hard for me to get past when reading it.BUT that is what Grayson wants. Then there is Derrick whom she chooses to have a open relationship with.Their relationship if you can call it that is a mess.I mean seriously.Im shaking my head here at Grayson and Derrick. What are you guys teenagers? This is an EXTREMELY unhealthy relationship.Very unhealthy.
Im at a loss because on one hand I liked the book but on the other I did not.The Main characters really bugged me and I just wanted to slap them both. The writing is excellent and the storyline flows very well. Its a well written book.I just simply cannot get over how badly the characters acted in the story.Im rating this story 4 stars because of the writing and how well it flows.I however would rather read something less dramatic by AJ Bennett next time and better Main Characters.

*REVIEW* Bully By Penelope Douglas

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all.

We're neighbors, and once, we were best friends. But then, one summer, he turned on me and has made it his mission to screw up my life at every opportunity. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to hide from him. I worried about what was around every corner and behind every door.

So I left.

I spent a year studying abroad and bathed in the freedom of life without Jared. Now I'm back to finish up high school and get the hell out of here forever. I'm hoping that after a year of breathing room, he's moved on and forgotten all about me.

But even if he hasn't changed, I have. I'm not interested in avoiding him or turning the other cheek anymore. We're going to go head to head, because neither of us wants to back down.

REVIEW
5 PLUS STARS!!!

So im currently in utter awe of this book called Bully.Utter Freaking Awe.It was amazingly great,so great I just finished it and want to read it again! This is the story of Tate who used to be friends with Jared but something changed in their friendship and Jared started bullying Tate and making her life miserable.First off let me say.I in no way condone bullying and feel it is not right in anyway.HOWEVER,it totally works in this book and when you delve deeper for Jared's reasons you will fully understand why he did what he did.Does it make it right?Probably not. I'm sure he could have chosen an easier path but had he the book would have been majorly lacking the depth, darkness and sensuality of this story. There were times when reading this I wanted to say..step back Mr.Sebastian Grey..there is a new man in town..his names Jared. This story is also about forgiveness.Forgiving those that have wronged you.Tate I have to give it to her.She stood up the Jared and kept him on his toes. This was a HOT,Sizzling New Adult read.Im still blown away that this is Penelopes Debut novel.I cannot imagine how GREAT her second novel in the series is going to be!Im totally looking forward to it and this is a MUST read and WILL be going on my top 2013 list!

*REVIEW* Anguish By Lila Felix

Anguish was the status quo, until she walked in.
Breaker James Collins is confined in a prison of his own making. Scarred doesn’t begin to define his hell since finding out his girlfriend had cheated, stolen, and lied two years ago. It led to a single event—one that would blacken his days and his nights from then on. Since then, he hasn’t left his house, crippled by fear of people and any social interaction.
Ashland talks too much and has the voice of a meth-laden prairie dog, or so she’s always been told. She’s been called annoying and irritating all of her life and gave up on having friends for a long time. College has given her a new lease on a social life and she’s embraced who she is. But now she’s waiting for the one guy who can take her breath away and put up with her antics.
A simple note pinned to a corkboard will lead Ash right to Breaker’s solitary world and she will learn that just because a guy doesn’t fit her ideal, doesn’t mean she won’t fall head over feet in love.

Anguish is the story of Breaker Collins,He suffers from panic disorder, agoraphobia and anxiety. His mom goes to his house one day and sees how badly he has let the house go and she puts out an ad for a housekeeper.Enter Ashland.Ashland needs a job and applies for this job. Ashland is shocked when she first see;s Breaker.Shocked in a good way.
I enjoyed Anguish,I can relate to Breaker for several reasons.Dealing with Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia is something I have actually dealt with.Lila nailed the feelings that associate with it on the head.I think I would have liked to get to know Ashland a bit more.I was confused with how she was stated in the blurb and I expected a shy girl who didnt have friends, but what I got was a girl with confidence and then some.In the book I felt I wasn't able to emotionally get on the same level with her.She almost felt like a guy in that respect. She was sometimes really blasé about somethings that I wanted her to pull herself in a bit more.Breaker felt far more romantic then Ashland did and usually its the other way around.I just feel it could have used a little more Ommph. I loved the ending and specially that it had a happy ending and an Epilogue.Have I mentioned how much I love Happy Endings and Epilogues?I Love Lila Felix's books and as always look forward to the next one!

WOW,WOW,WOW.What an amazing story. This is the Story of Darcie and Reggie.Darcie has a childhood of Horrors and Reggie rescue's her from those horrors and takes her in.As she grows she finds loving Reggie is something that she cannot deny.Reggie is literally her Knight in shining armor.
I am amazed By M.S. Brannon,Scarred Love is her Debut Novel and she writes like a season writer. It's a wonderful, gritty story.Darcie isn't the sweet girl most characters nowadays are but she is a in your face,Don't Mess with me kinda girl.Reggie is a yum yum eat em up kinda guy.I loved the secondary characters and what a twist with Presley.Did not see that one coming and it was very well written.Loved the Racing in the storyThe age difference in character may not appeal to all but in my opinion it worked very well.I had absolutely no issue with it.In fact I had to remind myself there was an age issue. Darcie due to her violent childhood grew up faster and harder then regular kids.So age is just a number. This is definitely a book I will read again and recommend to my readers.I have to say give yourself a pat on the back M.S.Brannon.You have Talent..I utterly cannot wait to read your next book and I would still like to have more of Darcie and Reggie one day in the future. This is a MUST read and will be going on my TOP 2013 Reading list at the end of the year.

*REVIEW*One Tiny Lie By K.A Tucker

Livie has always been the stable one of the two Cleary sisters, handling her parents' tragic death and Kacey's self-destructive phase with strength and maturity. But underneath that exterior is a little girl hanging onto the last words her father ever spoke to her. “Make me proud,” he had said. She promised she would...and she’s done her best over the past seven years with every choice, with every word, with every action.

Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan, and she’s dead set on delivering on it: Rock her classes, set herself up for medical school, and meet a good, respectable guy that she’s going to someday marry. What isn’t part of her plan are Jell-O shots, a lovable, party animal roommate she can’t say ‘no’ to, and Ashton, the gorgeous captain of the men’s rowing team. Definitely him. He’s an arrogant ass who makes Livie’s usually non-existent temper flare and everything she doesn’t want in a guy. Worse, he’s best friends and roommates with Connor, who happens to fits Livie’s criteria perfectly. So why does she keep thinking about Ashton?

As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades, career aspirations she no longer thinks she can handle, and feelings for Ashton that she shouldn’t have, she’s forced to let go of her last promise to her father and, with it, the only identity that she knows.

---------------------

This is the story of Livie.Livie is Kacey's Sister from (Ten Tiny Breaths Book One). This is Livie's story. Her story is so very different from Kacey's..While you see some comparisons you really cannot compare them if that makes sense. Livie is the one who knows what she wants. The sensible one.She has it mapped out and planned out.She will NOT leave the plan.Until that fateful party where she meets Ashton and what a fine specimen he is Ashton has baggage lots of it. But K.A Tucker makes it work and boy does it work. Thats all your getting no Spoilers.Lips are sealed.
K.A Tucker has once again wowed me.In One Tiny Lie you see Livie in a whole new light. Not just as the kid sister but living her life,Making her mistake.Learning.Loving.I am in utter awe of K.A Tuckers ability to draw you into a story. While Ten Tiny Breathes felt more dramatic One Tiny Lie felt like I could sit back relax a small bit with Livie and enjoy the college life.Kacey has it together in this book and there was no need to worry about Livie. She was able to be the carefree big sister giving her sisterly advice and perhaps pushing Livie out of her shell. Livie and Ashton's chemistry was sizzling. There was a part in the book where Livie spits out her drink and I swear I laughed out loud and scared the dog.Guess who was back?My Favorite Doctor Stayner,Watch out because if K.A Tucker let him he could totally steal the show.Sneaky Doctor that he is.I cannot and will not choose which book in this series I like better.I cannot. They are both great and so different you cannot compare.K.A Tucker you have wowed me once again with your writing.Job Well done.I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

Choice 1:

"Yeah, there's one or two of the guys you'll want to avoid here, but..." Cordy stopped mid-sentence, staring at something over Lydia's shoulder. "What is he doing here?"
Curious, Lydia rotated to see who she was talking about. She immediately regretted it. Daniel Brewer locked in on her like a homing beacon and strode across room to her table. "Crap," she muttered when she turned back.
"And he would be one of those.” Cordelia smirked. "Good luck." She stood, lifting her tray of dishes.
Lydia's panic level rose. "You're leaving?"
Cordelia shrugged. "Hate to abandon you, but I've got a call scheduled at 1845 I can't miss. I expect a full report on this later, however." She grinned and headed for the exit.
Lydia willed her hands to be still and her breathing calm. Her throat was scratchy and dry, but she didn't trust she could pick up her glass of water without spilling it everywhere.
"You're a difficult woman to track down," Daniel said as he plopped down on the bench across from her.
Not difficult enough, she thought to herself. "It's dinner time. People usually eat around now. Or are you skipping meals again?" She fought back a flinch, realizing what she gave away.
His eyebrows lifted, but he didn't comment on the remark. "I see you were talking with Ms. Orietti. Interesting choice in friends."
She sniffed. "I hardly think you're qualified to judge. My personal life aside, did you hunt me down for a reason?"
"I saw your request."
Lydia feigned surprise. "The one I sent at 1700? I assumed you wouldn't see that until whatever time it is you remember to go to work in the morning."
He frowned. "Despite what you think, I actually work quite a bit. My regular hours extend until 1900, and then I'm on call until 0700. I take breaks for meals, of course, but I have several high level projects going on at any given time."
"Of course.” She swallowed. Perhaps she had crossed the line a bit with that last one. "That was uncalled for. I apologize. What did you come to ask me, Mr. Brewer?"
"You can call me Daniel," he said, his grin returning.
It was easy to see why he was so popular with women, but that he still thought that was going to work rankled her. She steeled herself. "Mr. Brewer," she said, standing and lifting her tray. “It's been a very long day, so if there's a business matter you wanted to discuss..."
He kept pace with her as she crossed the room to dump her dishes. From her peripheral vision, she saw several heads turn to follow their progress. “Well, I thought we could discuss the specific project needs you have and do some outlining so I can show you my skills.” He winked at her
The subtle emphasis he placed on the word caused her to miss a step. "I'm sorry, did you just..."
"What?" Daniel looked at her, the picture of innocence.
Lydia sighed and kept walking. "Nevermind. Mr. Brewer, I--"
"Daniel."
She stopped outside the SAT station and punched the call button. "Mr. Brewer, if you refuse to conduct yourself in a manner appropriate for someone in your position, I will withdraw my request. I would prefer to have your expertise on this, but I will not tolerate immaturity."
"Dr. Ashley, I assure you I can be nothing but professional--"
"Good," she interrupted. "Then you can prove that at 0730 when you meet with me and my lab staff to discuss the necessary details." The SAT car arrived, and she stepped inside. "My coworkers are crucial to the lab's success and they will all have input in the needed software." The door closed. The last thing she saw was Daniel's stunned expression.

EXCERPT

She let her shirt go and it cascaded down her waist, back into place and on top of my hand, not willing to leave her ink yet.  She turned to face me, and my hand rounded the curve of her waist, around to her back and down to where those two dimples sat above the waistband of those tiny shorts she insisted on wearing to bed.

She reached out, grabbed my other hand and placed it on the corresponding spot on her right side.

“You’re not gonna go home, are you?” She whispered it to me; here in the dark while her thumb set me on fire, running across my bottom lip.

“Baby, you are my home,” I answered and pulled her down with me to show her.

The Prelude Synopsis
After finishing design school six months ago, Erin Angelo left her tragic past behind in the States and started a new life in Milan, Italy. Burying the grief, silencing her demons, and living a life without any real attachments has worked well for her so far. But when Erin secures her first real job as a budding clothing designer, her controlled world is shaken to its core by the mysteriously sexy director of the local symphony.
Alek Dostov is a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. He’s successful, hot, the son of a millionaire, and women all over the world flock to see one of his performances. For Alek, Erin represents the ultimate challenge: sexy, smart, and unaffected by his charms…or so she thinks. Just like Erin, Alek avoids attachments that leave him emotionally vulnerable. But unlike Erin, his pursuit of all things pleasurable is ruthless.
Knowing how wary they both are concerning any kind of committed relationship, Alek finds a way to pursue Erin, satisfying the intense attraction between them without sacrificing the freedom they both enjoy. Sometimes the deepest passion brings out the darkest emotions. And Erin finds herself completely unprepared for the forbidden world of the young maestro and his truths and even his secrets, as she struggles to deal with her own.
Music, passion, betrayal and forbidden love spun together in one of the most romantic cities in the world.
This novel contains sexual situations and mature language. It is intended for an audience at 17+ years of age.

Excerpt:

Alek’s POV
Erin Meets the Ex
“So, your mother was born in Dallas? That means you’re all mixed up, like me. Interesting,” Erin says and shakes her head as though she’s in deep thought.
She takes a bite of her focaccia, a type of yeast roll covered in garlic. Since we’re still well into the aperitivo, Milan’s happy hour, this is about all we’re going to be served for the time being. “It all makes sense now. I was wondering why Adriana doesn’t have a Russian sounding name. And how you got those…nevermind.”
“Don’t do that stopping mid-sentence thing. It drives me insane, yes. Finish. What do I have?” I lean over on the table, so I’m closer to her face. A rush of pink spreads through her cheeks. She blushes so easily. I enjoy watching it happen.
She shrugs and stabs at her food until I’m ready to snatch the plate away and eat the bread myself. I place my hand over hers. “Erin, you were going to tell me something, yes?” Our gazes meet, and she stares deep into my eyes.
“Your eyes. They’re not blue like a lot of Russians. That’s all. You don’t need me to be telling you things you’ve heard all your life, I’m sure.” She glances down at her plate and then over at my hand massaging the skin on top of hers.
“Look at me, Erin.”
“No. I mean, I’d rather not.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s—”
“What have we here? The two of you look cozy,” a familiar female’s voice says, ripping through our bonding moment. Nadya. I sit back and give her a hard look. She’s wearing fur in July, the same thing Mother likes to do. And she looks ridiculous.
“Nadya. You look warm today,” I say, smiling.
“I am. These Milan nights can get a little chilly. Especially when a girl sits at home alone more often than not,” she replies.
“I’m sure a woman of your means can easily find male companionship,” I say with a smirking grin. She turns to Erin.
“Hi there. I’m Nadya, Alek’s ex-girlfriend.” She holds out her hand for Erin to shake.
“I’m Erin. And I’m not the new girlfriend.” Shaking her hand, Erin passes a quick glance in my direction.
“Erin Angelo, the student designer who wooed and won the hearts of all three Martuccio brothers? I’m in awe. Tell me, what kind of sexual favors did you do in order to convince them to take you in and spend all that money for you?”
“Nadya. This isn’t the time or place for that shit,” I warn.
“Oh, Alek, this is girl talk. Obviously, Erin has what it takes to survive in the fashion capital of the world. I simply want pointers on how she managed to snag yet another successful man so very quickly. Has he taken you to the waterfall yet?” Nadya gushes, her voice dripping with sarcasm. I stand up and face her.
“I’m warning you, Nadya,” I repeat.
“No, Alek, it’s okay, really. I don’t mind helping Nadya out,” Erin says, a devious gleam in her gorgeous eyes. Easing back down to my seat, I get the feeling that Nadya is in for a surprise.
“First, I signed up for design school. This meant I actually had to use intelligence over sex,” Erin begins, using the sweetest voice I’ve ever heard on a female. “And then, my instructors noticed I had a sharp eye for identifying trends. You know what I mean, right? Real. Raw. Talent. Now, this doesn’t include shopping sprees and matching up the designer labels in all my outfits. I’m one of the people who actually sat down and created the design for that acrylic, also known as, fake fur vest you’re wearing.”
Erin beams a smile at Nadya and then glances at me just before she says, “Men can’t help but to notice someone who does this kind of thing. Right, Alek?”
“Damn right. I couldn’t help it, anyway,” I add, feeling more turned on by Erin than I’ll ever care to admit. She removes her shawl and exposes the way her dress dips low enough to show off her generous cleavage. I lower my head so neither one of them will catch me laughing.
“In fact, Alek told me that my ambitious nature outside of the bedroom turns him on so much that he can’t wait to get back and make mad, passionate love to me tonight,” Erin says with a smile. I almost choke on my saliva.
“Obviously. Have a nice dinner,” Nadya says in a flat voice and walks off toward a man standing near the bar.
“I cannot believe I just said those shitty things to her,” Erin says, shaking her head and gasping.
“She opened the door wide,” I answer.
“Can we have a subject-change moment, please?” she asks and moves on without questioning me about the waterfall statement Nadya made. I appreciate that she doesn’t question or judge me. Not yet.

Author of the Lost Immortals Saga and the Path Seekers Series. I’m also a mother, blogger, reader, gardener, home renovator, and a slayer of undead Egyptian mummies in Tomb Raider. I believe in karma, coffee, and seriously wish that the producers of Xena would bring my favorite show ever back.
Strange things about me: Everything. I am weird, odd, unusual, and generally tend to make people think I swooped down from another planet. I don’t know. Maybe I did. Who knows? I’m also a member of the #zombiesurvivalcrew on twitter. So if you need protection from the upcoming apocalypse, don’t hesitate to call on us.
I was born in the race-car city of Charlotte, NC, and now live in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, NC, when I’m not hanging out in Bardonia (Lost Immortals). Most of my characters are based on people that I’ve met throughout my travels and adventures. People tend to stop and start conversations with me as if I’ve known them my entire life. Does this freak me out? Not really. My mom says that one day I’ll get kidnapped by one of them. I told her that if it weren’t for these lovely people then I wouldn’t be able to create the stories that I do.

Book Description:

A Girl, a Guy, a Tournament and a Challenge
The Girl: At a time when most girls obsess about homecoming and high school prom, Rainy Dey spent her senior year caring for her dying mother. So when her father drops her off at college to start her freshman year, his words of advice to his bookish daughter are to start acting like a young person and finally have some fun.
The Guy: College senior, Aaron Donavan, aka Mr. Hot-and-Knows-It, is President of the Clubhouse, a social club for the college’s most wealthy and popular guys. Aaron can have any girl on campus except the one who challenges and excites him the most—Rainy Dey.
The Tournament: Every year, the senior members of The Clubhouse engage in a golf-inspired tournament to see who can sleep with the most freshman girls. When Rainy finds out about the tournament, she believes Aaron’s only interest in her is to score points by taking her V-Card.
The Challenge: Can Aaron convince Rainy that his feelings for her are true and that she won’t be just another notch on his tournament scorecard?

Excerpt:

When I exited the art building, I was shocked to see Aaron standing near the entrance. He was leaning against the building with his arms crossed over his chest. It looked like he was waiting for someone. I tried to hurry past him but he easily caught up to me and started walking with me.
“Thanks for the sticker. That was nice of you.”
When I looked over at him, he gave me a sly half grin. “I’m glad you like it.”
I kept walking and was surprised that he kept following me. “I’m going back to my dorm room.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“And you’re not invited,” I clarified.
He grabbed his chest dramatically. “You’re breaking my heart.”
I rolled my eyes. “Oh, please, there was a bevy of beauties in the back of the class clamoring for your attention.”
“A bevy, huh,” he chuckled. “Are you sure that wasn’t a band of beauties? Maybe a flock or a brood or even a throng?”
I stopped and put my hands on my hips. “What do you want, Aaron?”
He gave me a sexy little smile that sent electricity shooting through me. The man was fine, no doubt about it. But no matter what Dr. Griffin said about him, he was still a member of The Clubhouse. I had no interest in being a point on his score card. Or several points, apparently, if he got my V-Card.
“I thought you might want to set up a schedule to work on our final project. It seems to be important to you.”
I nodded. “It’s very important to me.”
“Would you like to meet for a few hours after class every Thursday?”
“And what about dinner?” The class got out at four in the afternoon.
“We can work and have dinner. The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive.”
“As long as we’re clear that we’re working and having dinner together is not anything else.”
“Anything else?” He feigned ignorance.
How stupid was I to think that he would even consider taking me out on a date? Of course, it was just about class work.
“Never mind.” I could feel my cheeks get hot.
He was stifling a chuckle. Asshole. He really knew how to push my buttons.
Then he leaned in so his lips were nearly touching my ears. Another wave of shivers rushed through me. How did he do that to me so easily and so often? I felt like I no longer had control of my own body.
“I would never confuse our work together as a date,” he whispered. “Not that I don’t think about taking you out. I think about it a lot. Especially what happens after I walk you back to your room.”
I gulped. I couldn’t believe Aaron thought about me at all. The idea seemed ridiculous. Then my rational self reminded me that he was probably just feeding me a line, which he was apparently an expert at, and I had almost fallen for it. Again.
“I’ve got to get back to the dorm,” I said weakly. “My roommate’s waiting for me.”
He winked at me. “See you next week, Sunshine.”
