I'm supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I'm an natural redhead even though I haven't seen my real hair color in years, I'm a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I've been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. 
I love to write, love to read and all I'm interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.

Tight Knit

Talia Gregory relies on her Nan for everything, especially helping her calm the anxiety that controls her life. But Nan gets sick, and it couldn’t be worse timing. Talia’s panic attacks are getting worse, her boyfriend is a jerk, her best friend is distant, her parents are more absent than usual and she’s stuck planning the Cozy Christmas Charity Drive for her knitting group in place of Nan. If that’s not panic inducing enough, enter Lachlan.

Lachlan McCreedy doesn’t rely on anyone. Not after what he’s been through. It’s him and Gram, nothing else matters but keeping his past buried, and his secrets hidden. So when Gram forces him to help with her Christmas sale, Talia is the last thing he expected, and trusting her with his secrets comes as a shock to both of them. But when he unexpectedly falls for her, the question becomes can he trust her with his heart?

1. How's Life treating you right now?
L: Ah, you know. I graduated which is cool, thanks to Tal. Selling Gram's place which really sucks, but it's too big. My aunt and uncle are helping me which still sucks but at least I'm not alone. Right now, I'm looking for an apartment and a job and all that boring after school stuff. Tal's dad pulled some awesome strings for me. I agreed to keep going to Support for another year for the whole Deacon thing. I still fuckin hate that guy, but I'm learning to overcome my anger. Or whatever.

2.Has Talia knitted you anything recently?
L: Nah, she's all famous now so I'm bumped down to the bottom of the priority list.
T: Um, butting in to call you a liar. I'm pretty sure you took that grey hat I made for Janna.
L: I look way sexier in it, though.

3.Tell me about how your relationship with Talia is going?Im nosy and need details!!!
L: I still love her, if that's what you're asking. I'm a guy, I don't wanna talk about that shit. Tal? Details?
T: As you can tell, being in love with Lachlan McCreedy isn't easy.
L: Meaning?
T: You're a little intense. It wasn't easy with Georgina. He misses her and sometimes it makes him pull away but I always get him back. He's been more than amazing with me and Nan even though I know it hurts him. He's always there. I'm probably embarrassing him but he's really not as badass as he pretends to be.
L: I'm more badass than I pretend to be... But just to even the embarrassment feild, living on my own has made for a lot of alone time for Tal and I. I have zero complaints and I'm keeping all the details to myself.
T: You're an ass.
L: Love you, baby.

4.Did you take Talia to prom?
L: I'm not exactly the prom kinda guy but I asked. She said no. We caught a concert or something, I don't remember.
T: That local band. They were good.

5.Do you have any plans like college?
L: HA! No. Make money, find something I want to do that is legal. All I know for sure is I'm sticking around until Tal tells me to get lost.

6.What is your favorite thing about Talia?
L: That she can sense me. I think with the anxiety she recognizes the signs before I go into a mood. When I think about Gram too much or talk to my mom, she knows that moment right before I shut down. It really makes it easier to snap out of it. I don't know what I'd do without her.

7.I ask this too all my interviewees.How do you feel about squirrels?
L: Shifty little bastards.

1.How has your Anxiety been treating you?
T: I'm back in therapy, it's my compromise with my parents. With my crazy preggo mother she can't really focus on me right now. Nan's still in chemo so that's a major trigger but the knitting helps.
L: and you're awesome boyfriend.
T:Right, and my awesome badass boyfriend.
L: That's my girl

2.Has your relationship with your parents gotten better?
T: By better you mean less yelly and more eye rolling and hormonal? Yeah, Dad got a job closer to home, working better hours so I see him more and we take turns listening to Mom talk about her swollen ankles. Baby's due soon so that's totally weird. I have no idea what will happen. But I feel good about it.

3.Tell me all about Lachlan.Is he a good kisser?Could he be "The One?"
T: Well I told a bit earlier but uh, yeah great kisser. He can make me blush by just talking about it.
L: Because I know exactly what you like these lips to do and I'm always up for it. Practice and all.
T: My point. And thinking about the one makes me panic, I'll focus on graduating first.
L: Yeah that shit is terrifying.
T: Do you really need to swear that much?
L: I might.

4.How has knitting been going lately?
T: I have a to-do list of ten thousand things to knit for people which keeps me really distracted. Lachlan's skills have come in handy, he sells stuff in the halls for me.
L: Ouch.
T: What's ouch is that Lachlan's the approacable one... I don't mind though, I prefer to not talk to people.

5.What are your plans for the future?
T: Survive High School. Spend as much time with Nan as possible. Figure out what this new sibling is going to do to my existence.

 6.Tell me your favorite thing about Lachlan
T: His song. The one he hums to me when I'm lost. More than that I love that he doesn't care where we are or what we're doing. He sings in public to help me. That's pretty awesome.
L: The one person who's opinion of me matters is you. I'll sing to you until you tell me to stop.

7.Have you ever danced in the rain?
T: I can't say I have.

 Facts and Statistics 

 Heroin is an opioid drug that is synthesized from morphine, a naturally occurring substance extracted from the seed pod of the Asian opium poppy plant. Heroin usually appears as a white or brown powder or as a black sticky substance, known as “black tar heroin.”

In 2011, 4.2 million Americans aged 12 or older (or 1.6 percent) had used heroin at least once in their lives. It is estimated that about 23 percent of individuals who use heroin become dependent on it.

How Is Heroin Used?

Heroin can be injected, inhaled by snorting or sniffing, or smoked. All three routes of administration deliver the drug to the brain very rapidly, which contributes to its health risks and to its high risk for addiction, which is a chronic relapsing disease caused by changes in the brain and characterized by uncontrollable drug-seeking no matter the consequences.

Injection Drug Use and HIV and HCV Infection

People who inject drugs are at high risk of contracting HIV and hepatitis C (HCV). This is because these diseases are transmitted through contact with blood or other bodily fluids, which can occur when sharing needles or other injection drug use equipment. (HCV is the most common blood-borne infection in the Unites States.) HIV (and less often HCV) can also be contracted during unprotected sex, which drug use makes more likely.

Because of the strong link between drug abuse and the spread of infectious disease, drug abuse treatment can be an effective way to prevent the latter. People in drug abuse treatment, which often includes risk reduction counseling, stop or reduce their drug use and related risk behaviors, including risky injection practices and unsafe sex. (See box, “Treating Heroin Addiction.”)

What Are the Other Health Effects of Heroin?

Heroin abuse is associated with a number of serious health conditions, including fatal overdose, spontaneous abortion, and infectious diseases like hepatitis and HIV (see box, “Injection Drug Use and HIV and HCV Infection”). Chronic users may develop collapsed veins, infection of the heart lining and valves, abscesses, constipation and gastrointestinal cramping, and liver or kidney disease. Pulmonary complications, including various types of pneumonia, may result from the poor health of the user as well as from heroin’s effects on breathing.

In addition to the effects of the drug itself, street heroin often contains toxic contaminants or additives that can clog blood vessels leading to the lungs, liver, kidneys, or brain, causing permanent damage to vital organs.

Treating Heroin Addiction

A range of treatments including be-havioral therapies and medications are effective at helping patients stop using heroin and return to stable and productive lives.

I received a ARC for an honest review

  When I first heard Cassie was writing How to Date a Nerd I admit there may have been some happy dancing going on,Im not going to lie.When I hear that the awesome Cassie is writing another book your darn right Im going to get excited.

  Lets delve right in without any spoilers,mmmkay?Zoe is the epitome of mean girl at school.Not going to lie I envisioned Lindsey Lohan in the movie Mean Girls.

But Zoe was 10 times better then Lindsey.The catch here is that Zoe is a closet nerd.Majorly closet nerd.She doesn't want to risk her reputation of being popular..possibly loose and somewhat mean.Say what?How can you possibly like a girl like that?Easy.Its a facade.Perhaps a bad choice on Zoe's part but a facade is what it is.You will learn why Zoe is the way she is once you read How to Date a Nerd.  Zac is the boy next door and the boy Zoe has the hots for.The problem?Zacs a nerd.Major nerd.Like one that would ruin Zoe's Popularity.But he's also happens to be a really HOT nerd.I have to say the ending was amazing and I wasn't prepared for how satisfying it would be.It left me literally hungry for more.Will Zoe finally overcome her fears of not being popular or will she choose popularity over love?
   The writing as always flows amazingly smooth.The story draws you and keeps you entrenched in Zoe's we will say mental battle with the battle of popularity or nerd.Cassie makes writing a review easy because I can find nothing to critique her on.Period.Want some critiquing,Cassie ? You need squirrels in your book.There.

I am utterly convinced that Cassie is the next big thing.She is an amazing writer and I dive into her books the minute I can.You will not be disappointed.Give How to Date a Nerd a try..You will not be disappointed.Congratulations Cassie on another amazing book.
