*Spotlight* Crossroads By Paige Matthews

Synopsis:

Everyone finds themselves at a crossroads in their life.

Caleb Cross is not your typical front man. His is not the bad boy, partying, love ‘em and leave ‘em persona, although his public image states otherwise. Being the lead singer of the popular rock band, Double Cross, there are a lot of things the fans and the public do not know about Caleb. Sure, he likes to have a little fun now and again, but after a publicity stunt goes wrong, he is determined to shed the ultra-bad boy image.

Katherine "Kat" Summers is not a typical woman. Not a girl who gets star struck or easily impressed, Kat is content with being herself and who she is. When Kat's company is hired by Caleb Cross to rebrand him, she finds herself re-evaluating everything she knows about herself and about her life. Trying to maintain who she is against what she begins to desire, proves to be difficult for her.

For Caleb, hiring a new publicist to help reshape his image was the easy part. What he didn’t count on was being reunited with the one girl that made him question everything about himself. He’s forced to confront himself once more, in order to learn what he truly wants, and who he truly is.

Author bio:
I grew up in a small, idyllic affluent town in the Western part of Connecticut, USA. The town definitely did not match my personality. My high school years were filled with the proverbial teenage fun, although not too much by me. I stayed close to home and pursued my B.A. in English Comparative Literature from a local college and then continued on for my M.A in English Professional Writing. I have always had a love for reading and literature and only furthered that during my studies. During my M.A. studies I decided it was time to challenge myself and work in a field that I have long admired and dreamt off: being a writer.
Having entered the lifestyle a few years ago, I write erotica with a preference toward BDSM themes. I enjoy exploring the emotional connection and emotions behind the D/s relationships and why we like what we like.

Excerpt 1:

The bath water had turned lukewarm and I decided it was time to get out. I dried myself off and dressed into a pair of bed shorts and tank top. I was just getting into bed when I heard my cell phone ring; the personal one, not the work one. Only a few people in my world had access to that number; my father, Margaret and my best friend Carly.
“Hello,” I said without even looking at the caller id.
“Well, well, well such an informal greeting for your new client.” The voice froze me. Caleb. How the hell does this man keep wiggling his way into my life?
“How did you get this number? No one has this number.” I said as I started to pace my bedroom, trying to keep my voice low.
“Your father. I want access to you, and I will have it. Now, Kat…”
“Katherine. My name is Katherine.” I interrupted him.
“Katherine,” he purred. I swore my pussy clenched at the sound. Jesus. Why does he do this to me?
“What do you want, Mr. Cross? It is nearly midnight and I was about to go to bed.” My fingers were drumming against my thigh as I waited for his answer, wearing a path in my carpet.
“Just to hear your voice, Kat. I mean Katherine.”
“What the fuck kind of game are you playing Mr. Cross?” My patience was wearing thin. I was exhausted and not in the mood to deal with his mind games.
“Caleb. You will call me Caleb, understood?” There was a change in the intensity of his voice.
“Mr…Caleb, what are you trying to accomplish?” I took a deep breath trying to calm my nerves; my fingers still drumming away.
“Just to get to know my new publicist.” His voice deepened now and I wondered what he was thinking about. I heard some voices in the background and then the covering of the phone. Fuck this.
“Well, you can call between the hours of eight a.m. and five p.m. for those conversations. I have to go.”
“You are my publicist and I will have access to you whenever I want.” The voices in the background got louder and I could make out they were female.
“You know what Caleb. Fuck you. How dare you call me at this hour when you clearly are busy? Goodnight!” I hung up before I could hear his response. Who the hell did he think he was?
My phone rang back immediately. I denied the call and proceeded to turn it off, along with my work phone. Any emergencies could be handled in the morning. I wasn’t ready for the shit storm Caleb Cross was going to bring to my life.

*Blog Tour Stop* Poughkeepsie Enhanced Collectors Edition App Tour W/ Review

Welcome to the Poughkeepsie Enhanced Collector’s Edition App Tour!

Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia has been a cult hit bestseller since 2011. A homeless guy counting the smiles of a kind train commuter spiraled into a novel that was nominated by the Rockstars of Romance as one of the most romantic stories ever and won 2nd place!   It was a story that deserved getting a jumbo-sized enhancement. Extra scenes out the ying yang was, of course, a huge part of the fun. Getting to spend some of those previously undiscovered first moments with Blake and Livia or the moment he proposed was worth exploring. In Debra’s wildest dreams she imagined Poughkeepsie with its own soundtrack, anchored by her favorite musicians. When blockbuster talent Ron Pope signed on with fourteen songs and then Rustic Overtones agreed as well, she knew things were going to get crazy cool.

After almost two full years of development, the Enhanced Poughkeepsie is ready.  Debra lost count of the hours spent, as did the developer poured into this. It was beast, and more amazing than she could have ever imagined. This app became the most exceptional reading experience Debra could devise for her readers.

Excerpt:

Fall 2012
I am alone, a single soul. No longer am I a part of a family unit .The overwhelming feeling of loss is paving its way through my body. Who knew your heart could actually hurt or that you could feel so damn empty inside. I feel like brittle glass. I bet if someone touched me I would shatter into a million tiny pieces. Digging my nails into my wrist I embrace the pain my nails are causing as they sharply bite into my skin.
My mother used to always say; Hadley, that which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.  I personally think it’s a crock of crap. I mean what exactly does it do to make you stronger? What exactly am I supposed to feel like? Superman? It didn’t make them stronger; all it did was take them away from me. Sighing inwardly, I was so close to death and I don’t feel strong at all. I feel like a suicidal wreck. I can’t help but know it should be me in that casket and not them.
The Minister’s voice breaks into my fading thoughts shaking me into the present. I avert my eyes and stare off into the distance, my eyes on two birds circling the field in the distance. I wonder what it would be like to fly away, to not have a care in the world.
Lowering the caskets into the ground is almost too much to bear; watching the changing leaves dancing around the cemetery floating along with the breeze, I long to float away with them. The same crisp autumn breeze tangles my hair pulling it in front of my face and pushes my hair behind my ears while I look at the bright sun.
The birds are singing bright happy songs and I find it ironic, it should be raining.  I hear women behind me sniffling into tissues, issuing a cough here and there. Someone near the back is gossiping and it’s taking everything in me not to turn around and tell them to shut up and stop crying. They didn’t lose their family. I did. I should be the one crying, but I’m not. My knee is throbbing in pain standing on crutches watching the minister drone on and on, the pain medication doing nothing to dilute it.

I nodded my head and watched as Adam’s hand lingered on the neck of the Ibanez™ before he picked it back up and slipped the strap over his shoulder.
I sat on the edge of the bed as he began to play without an amplifier.
The noise was tinny without the electric part hooked up but that didn’t matter.  Adam’s fingers moved effortlessly from fret to fret as he strummed the guitar. His head nodded ever so slightly to the beat and his bare foot tapped the floor as he closed his eyes and a smile formed on his lips.
I stood and placed my hands around his neck, yet he continued to play, nod his head and tap his foot with eyes closed. The only change was on his lips as they crept into the seductive grin.
I leaned into him, letting my hands comb through the hair on the back of his head as my breath washed over his lips.
Still nothing. The guitar continued to hum with his talent.
I let my lips hover over his, then let them wander over the soft skin of his neck and up the stubble of his chin. The beat remained smooth, undisturbed as the strings squealed and he deepened the riff.
I paused as my lips reached his again, lingering at the corner of his mouth where the cold metal of his lip ring teased me just as much as his fingers on the guitar.
I let my mouth run over the metal until it caught in my teeth and I sucked it in.
Finally, his body reacted tensing as he groaned—but his playing didn’t cease, didn’t change. He still resisted, hand strumming a tease over the strings next to the skin of my belly.
His mouth responded to mine as I let the ring and his lip slowly slip away from me. That was it— the guitar spun to his back and he yanked my hips to his own.
“I need you to play me like that guitar,” I gasped as his hand tilted my head and his tongue ran over my trembling neck.
His other hand drifted down my torso.
“Good, because I wasn’t done with my song,” he growled into my ear.
