Collateral Damage is the Third book in the From The Damage Series By Jasmine and Genna Denton. The Series Follows a group of teenagers who are in a teen counseling group. Each of these teens are dealing with some serious issues and this series follows how the teens are growing and dealing with the issues they face.We are again greeted with the familiar faces of Kelly,Gage,Alex,Meagan,Ryder,Seth,Kelly's Stepsister Kendall and last but not least Daphne who is the Counselor.
Without going into too much detail as I detest giving out Spoilers I will say You need to read Opposites Attract and Coming Clean prior to reading Collateral Damage.Technically you could read it alone..and I say that somewhat disagreeing with myself BUT if you do that be prepared to be missing quite a bit of the back stories of the characters and why they are the way they are. This book was an emotional read and very well written. You will welcome all the characters back with a hug. There will be Characters that tick you off,Some will make you want to cry.I would highly recommend this book to teens and adults of all ages who enjoy Young Adult books. The writing flows extremly smoothly with at least 7 different characters.WHAT DID SHE SAY?SEVEN CHARACTER POINTS OF VIEWS?Yes I did.Its takes  strong authors to pull of SEVEN (GASP) Character point of Views,But they did it and did it well. This is not the end of the series and I am eagerly awaiting seeing what the future has in store for the teens.Overall this was an excellent read and VERY worthy of 5 stars.

Blurb:

Being a socially awkward geek with anger management issues has made Travis Armstrong an outcast, but on top of that, he has visions of the future. Not that he can tell anyone, except in an anonymous online forum. When he takes a chance and meets with another group member, he winds up at The Bunker, where everyone is like him, and where, finally, he feels like he belongs.
Tara Gage has been at The Bunker since she was thirteen years old. Even among the residents there, she’s unique, and her special talents lead her to discover that The Bunker is not the safe haven it seems to be. She’s determined to escape and get back to her family.
When they each have visions of the other’s death, Travis and Tara know they have to run. With their captors desperate to get them back, they must rely on each other to get away before their visions become reality.

Excerpt:

My foot jiggled in time to the song running through my head as I waited for my turn at the polygraphs. Travis was nowhere to be seen, and I was glad of that. Or that's what I told myself whenever I became aware of my disappointment at not seeing him. He drove me crazy, and really didn't seem at all exceptional, but a growing part of me didn't care about that, and just longed to be near him. Disgusted with myself, I tried to think of something else.
My thoughts were cut short when Travis and Mike entered the hallway, both looking upset about something. Their friendship puzzled me. I know Mike was trying to prod Travis into being more of a leader than a loner, but as far as I was concerned, it wasn't working. He was too introverted, too willing to follow along with what the rest of us were doing, or else go off by himself. Both of them sent anxious glances my way, setting me on edge, and just as I stood to go talk to them, the attendant called my name. Casting a last look their way, I turned and entered the polygraph room.
I tried to get through it as quickly as I could so I could find out why Mike had looked so worried. Of course, because I was in a hurry, things took twice as long as normal, and every second wasted irritated the crap out of me. By the time I returned to the hall, Mike was nowhere to be seen, and Travis was pacing back and forth. It seemed I had no choice but to talk to him.
Taking huge strides, I made it to Travis's side quickly and tapped him on the shoulder. When he turned, I hesitated for just a moment when my eyes locked with his, my stomach fluttering. Pull it together, Tara! I took a breath and then said, "What's up with Mike?"
Travis's eyes darted around and he turned to look over each shoulder before giving me a weird look. "Not much," he said finally, though he seemed to be trying to communicate something with his eyes. I frowned, and watched as his eyes widened, then darted to the side, his eyebrows lifting and then drawing together. What the hell? I shrugged and shook my head. Whatever he was trying to tell me wasn't coming across at all. He sighed and opened his mouth to say something else when something behind me caught his attention.
Turning, I saw a couple of armed security guards rushing into the polygraph room Mike had gone in. Remembering Cam, a band tightened around my stomach as my heart began to pound. Security only came to the polygraph rooms for one reason, and my fears were confirmed a moment later when they exited, holding Mike in between them.
"Mike!" I screamed, leaping forward to try to get to him. They couldn't be taking him away! What had he seen? My efforts to reach his side were blocked when Travis grabbed me from behind and wrapped his long arms around me. "Travis, let me go! Let me go!" I struggled against his grip, but it was like iron and I was getting nowhere. Lifting one foot, I kicked backward and connected with his shin. I heard him swear, but he didn't loosen his hold on me.
"Tara, stop," he whispered in my ear. "He knew this was going to happen."
I ignored him and screamed after Mike again. The security team nearly had him to the entrance to the administrative section of The Bunker. "No!" I yelled. "No, you can't take him! Mike!"
His eyes were full of pain when he turned to look at me one last time. I saw his mouth form the words, "I love you." And then the door slammed closed behind him. Hot tears streamed down my cheeks, my heart ached, and though my throat was raw and sore, I couldn't stop screaming. Travis wouldn't let me go no matter how hard I pulled against him. My squirming and wiggling wasn't doing any good, but I couldn't stop. The rational part of my brain knew that Mike was gone and nothing I did would help, but at the same time if I didn't try, I'd be giving up.
Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my arm and when I turned my head, I saw one of the infirmary staff standing with a syringe in her hand. I tried to say something to her, but the edges of my vision were going fuzzy, and then everything went dark.

*REVIEW* Through Glass By Rebecca Ethington

THROUGH GLASS
BY REBECCA ETHINGTON
Everyone remembered the day the sky went black. The day the sun was wiped from the sky. They remember the wind as it brought in the darkness; the way the earth shook and everything changed.

Everyone remembered the screams as the darkness ate those who were out in the open, those who had surrounded themselves by light, and those who made noise.

Everyone remembered the voice from the sky and the way food disappeared.

At least, that's what I hoped. I hoped that there was an 'everyone' that would remember because I am not sure how many are left, how many survived. Or if anyone did.
I hoped that I wasn't alone.
I remembered that day.
I remembered because it was the day I became alone.
It was the day that everything was perfect until the monsters took it away. Then the house went silent and the birds stopped singing. It was the day when everyone disappeared, everyone except the boy, the only person I have seen in two years.

The boy I talk to through the glass.

Through Glass is book one of a series.
It is a Clean New-Adult Paranormal, Dystopian, Romance with Creepy and Un-Dead Themes.
Language: Low to None
Violence: Moderate
Sexual Content: Low to None

*COVER REVEAL*Seizing Fate By Heather Van Fleet

Seizing Fate (Predetermined #2)
Young adult Paranormal romance

Seizing Fate blurb:
And you thought Emmy’s life was a hot mess before…
Jack’s gone off to Arizona with his brother, but for how long? Emmy doesn’t have a clue. In his place, though, is Zachary. The whiny, miserable, alpha wolf–boy who is more than ready to take on the duty of her mate/boyfriend — if she’d let him, that is. But the last thing Emmy wants is to deal with a boy who believes that the world should fall solely at his feet whenever he demands it.
But hey, at least her step–douche is gone, and her life is back to an almost normal sense, right?
Wrong again, Emmy’s life will never again be normal…
With her Uncle Prick in town and her best friend acting as secretive as ever, Emmy finds new challenges to overcome — challenges that no seventeen–year–old girl should ever have to deal with. For one thing, what is up with her dream–liaison status anyway? What does it mean, really? And why does her little brother have to go through it too? And then there’s her mom. The lady is acting a tad bit odd, to put it nicely. After all these years, she finally wants to step up and be a parental figure? Heck no! Emmy’s definitely not copacetic with that idea.
But with the bad, there’s got to be some good out there for her somewhere, right?
Add in the wolves, witches, drama, and lots of kisses and you get Emmy the Extraordinaire, the girl with strawberry–colored hair, and a chip on her shoulder. She’s finally on her way to finding out what her life and her future both have in store for her, even if the road to getting there is nowhere near as easy as she hoped it would be. But Emmy is tough, and more than ready to take on life with her bare hands.
It’s just too bad she’s madly, desperately, insanely in love with a boy who insists on making her life both a miserable hell and utter perfection at the same time.

Excerpt:
Pressure, fire, wetness, tongues — single words were all I could think as our mouths battled. God, I’d never been kissed like this before. Ever, and if we stopped, I’d die a happy woman from his lips touching mine alone. He tugged his hand into the back of my hair, pulling my chin upwards, yanking me towards him. I clawed at his shirt, ready to rip it from his massive body. I pulled at his jacket first, lowering it over his shoulders until it fell to the floor. The buttons jingled against the tile, scattering over our feet. Damn, if he didn’t care about his signature black coat falling apart, then I had to wonder what else I could get away with.

*REVIEW* Courage(Mark Of Nexus #2) By Carrie Butler

Courage(Mark of Nexus #2)
BY Carrie Butler
Release Date Oct 15th 2013

Courage (Mark of Nexus #2) is a New Adult paranormal romance that features four unique points-of-view. While the novel stands alone, it is best enjoyed after Strength (Mark of Nexus #1).

♥ ♥ ♥

Making a deal with the bad guys wasn’t the highlight of Rena Collins’ semester, but, hey, it saved her boyfriend. Now, in order to appease the human-altering organization known as ERA, she’ll crawl under their microscope while they study the Mark of Nexus and plot their eye-glazed version of the future--until she realizes that’s not all they’re plotting.

Wallace Blake has always known his girlfriend is unlike most girls. But now that information has surfaced regarding the two bloodlines that balance his supernatural race, he finally understands why. Rena belongs to one of them. She’s been augmenting his power, all along...

Enter: Corynn Catley. Brought into the country under the guise of an internship, she’s intended to become ERA’s secret weapon. Kind of. Her abilities cancel out Wallace’s, rendering him powerless, but that’s exactly what he’s always wanted. Too bad it only works when his girlfriend’s not around.

All the while, Rena fails to notice the crush her geeky best friend, Aiden Ross, is nursing. He’d give anything for her to see him in a new light--even reinvent himself through questionable means--but there’s a reason people are told to be careful what they wish for. Finding the courage to tell her could put everyone’s lives in danger.

REVIEW
5 STARS

I was given an ARC for an Honest Review.

The Group is back in Courage(Mark of Nexus Book 2).This story can be a stand alone BUT I personally would recommend Reading Strength first as well quite frankly I do feel you will be lost if you do not.Courage starts off again with where Strength Left off, here are plenty of new problems to deal with. One problem is a Corynn Catley who is brought in as the ERAs secret weapon and Aiden..Rena's best friend who has a humongous crush on her.

Wallace and Rena are still dealing with the fact that Wallace is indeed so strong until one day they figure out how to make it work via trial and error. It however does not stop Rena from trying to become a Martyr and doing something she and Wallace will regret.Courage is a wonderful continuation of Mark of the Nexus.I would love to write more on the happenings but I will NOT post spoilers.
Courage is told in Several Points of View. They were done well and did not detract from the story. You were able to keep up and know what was going on with the other characters that you previously did not. I am utterly enthralled in this series.Hook,Line and Sinker. The ability that Carrie has to draw you into a story and keep you there is a special talent.Im eagerly awaiting Book 3 in the series.Yet another job well done.I highly highly recommend reading Courage(Mark of the Nexus) AFTER you read Strength.

*REVIEW* Strength(Mark of Nexus Book 1) By Carrie Butler

Strength (Mark of the Nexus #1)
By Carrie Butler

When college student Rena Collins finds herself nose-to-chest with the campus outcast, her rumor-laced notions are shattered. Handsome, considerate, and seemingly sane, Wallace Blake doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, screaming and banging on the walls of his dorm room. Hell, he doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, period.

Too curious for her own good, Rena vows to uncover the truth behind Wallace’s madman reputation--and how two seconds of contact had left her with bruises. Of course, there are a few setbacks along the way: guilt, admiration, feelings of the warm and fuzzy variety…

Not to mention the unwanted attention of Wallace's powerful, supernaturally-gifted family.

They’re a bloodline divided by opposing ideals, two soon-to-be warring factions that live in secret among us. When Rena ends up caught in their crossfire, Wallace has no choice but to save her by using his powers. Now they’re really in trouble. With war on the horizon and Rena’s life in the balance, he needs to put some distance between them. But Rena won’t let go. If fighting is what it takes to prove her own strength and keep Wallace in her life, then that’s what she’ll do--even if it means risking a whole lot more than her heart.

REVIEW

I was given a copy of Strength for an Honest Review.

I am always a fan of a great Paranormal YA/NA book.Carrie Butler Hit Strength out of the ballpark.Strength is the story of Rena who is in college. She and her friends are terrified of the crazy guy,Wallace upstairs. He has cluster headaches and from the rumors he may or may not be harming people.Rena Literally bumps into him on accident when meeting a friend.Nothing out of the ordinary, right?Nothing but the fact that Wallace left major bruising on her from a mere bump. Strength opens up a whole new world of supernatural beings and reminds me a small bit of the Characters in Heroes with their abilities.Strength has it all.It has romance, action and an amazing storyline.

Being a blogger one of the best things that happens to me is when an Author that I am unaware of comes to me and requests that I review their book.Do you know why?It gives me that amazing opportunity to fall in love with an author that I personally was not aware of.It gives me that opportunity to fall in love with their book.Their Characters. It makes me realize just how many amazing books there are in this world to read.
Strength is a great read.Your going to want to read it and not put it down. You will be drawn to Both Rena and Wallace. But not only to them but to the Secondary characters. They play a decent role here but do not overpower the main characters.I adore when I am able to gush about a book.Simply adore it.Read Strength(Book 1 of  Mark of the Nexus) By Carrie Butler. You will NOT be disappointed.Give yourself a huge pat on the Back Carrie Butler. You have written a Winner!

*Blog Tour Stop Becoming Bryn By Angela Carling

Title: Becoming Bryn

Author: Angela Carling

Release date: June 15th, 2013

Genre: Young Adult

Tour: Irresistible Reads Book Tours

Book Description:

For months, Jesse has been envious of her twin sister Bryn and even has a crush on Bryn’s gorgeous, popular boyfriend, Quinton. When Jesse awakens from a coma to learn that everyone thinks she IS Bryn, the option of actually taking over her sister’s life is beyond tempting, but there’s a downside. She’d have to give up Ethan, her best friend and the only person she trusts. Could she actually live as Bryn for the rest of her life? And if her family and friends found out, would they ever forgive her?

Book Excerpt

Bryn’s point of view
I put my head on the observation window, letting it rest there.  The time for screaming and crying had passed. My reactions as I watched Jesse through the window were dulled now. The shock value was complete gone.
I’d held onto hope that Jesse would tell someone, anyone about our mistaken identities, but when I saw Ethan come and go and I watched her slip the ring Quinton gave me on her finger, I knew Jesse had made a final decision. She was going to use the mistake to her advantage. Jesse was stealing my life.
In fairness to Jesse, at first she did try to tell my mom that she Jesse, but once Quinton came to visit, something changed. That’s when I started thinking back over the last few months of my life.
Jesse had always been shy around Quinton, shy or hostile, never indifferent, always reactive.  She’d never approved of him, yet I’d caught her staring at him more than once. Then, the night we’d talked in Jesse’s room, the night I’d confided in her after Quinton had given me the ring,  she’d looked at me like I was crazy to not want Quinton.
In my head, I began sorting through the rest of our conversation from that night. As the memories came, my hand went to my mouth as if a gasp might escape.  I remembered my words now.  I’d practically handed her an invitation to take over my life.  I’d told her she could make my life better than I could. I’d heaped on the praise and told her that she was smarter than me.
At the time, I’d meant it but that was only because it was a hypothetical situation.  I never actually wanted her to take over my life! Even if I didn’t want Quinton anymore, I didn’t want her to inherit him like some kind of consolation prize. More pieces of my past life came to my mind. In the months before the accident, she’d become intensely critical of me. Her criticism had driven a wedge between us. I thought she was disgusted by how shallow she thought I’d become but in reality, all that time, she was really jealous. How had I missed what was so obvious?
It was all starting to make sense; Jesse was crazy about Quinton and she was willing to give up her own identity to have him.
