Epic Fail-Claire LaZebnik

Will Elise’s love life be an epic win or an epic fail?
At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you. Case in point:
As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school—not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.
As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn’t exactly on everyone’s must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.
When Elise’s beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince’s best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant. But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.

**REVIEW**

Another Young Adult book based on Pride and Prejudice.Gasp!Luckily I Adore Pride and Prejudice. The book takes place in a ritzy type school with the main characters being Elise and Derick.I enjoyed the writing style and Elise's witty and quirky comments. Her way of dealing with certain circumstances was refreshing.
I cant help but feel some of this book is similar to another Pride and Prejudice tale I read but as the book is based on Jane Austen that is to be expected.I wish there was more Elise and Derick romance,I would have enjoyed a few more chapters of them together.Overall a very cute take on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Will enjoy reading more by Claire LaZebnik.

  1. I thought this was a fun one, too. I hate to admit I've never actually read the orig - altho daughter no. 2 watched that BBC version so many times I could recite it in my sleep. So even tho you sort of know the story, this felt fresh and lively, espec the characters. Claire is one funny and clever writer!

  3. Yay! Even gladder you liked it, then. I have kind of an author crush on Claire, she's really a cool person, you should follow her. She has also written a couple books on autism, too, that you might find interesting. Definitely one of those interesting and amazingly talented people I never would have found before the internet age.
