Torn Souls-Crystal Cattabriga

This book is dedicated to all the children who have lost their lives from being bullied and the one who will find the strength and courage to continue on.....

The unspeakable acts of bulling can destroy a life. So many children are affected in the world and together we can make a difference. Let’s be the change we want to see in the world...

Julia Stone’s life has been turned upside down ever since her parents decided to move out of the country and into the city. The life she knew was gone and starting over was something she wasn't prepared for. The thought of a new school, new teachers and even new friends was terrifying, but after a few weeks things didn't seem all that bad. Julia had met a boy and his name was Alex. He wasn't a jock, he wasn't even the
smartest kid in school, but he was nice and he made her laugh. Alex and Julia hung out all the time, eventually becoming best friends. They even made a pact never to keep secrets from each other, but for Julia it was harder than she thought. She had a secret that was destroying the very cord of her soul. Her life as a teenager was being ripped apart by the kids in her school. Julia was being bullied mentally and physically. The thought of going through the next three years in high school being bullied continuously wasn't something she was prepared to do. The choice was simple, and she wasn't about to do it alone.

4 stars

Torn Souls is a book about bullying and a how Julia,Alex(her friend) and her parents take charge and make change.I Liked the summary of this book and I enjoyed the topic of it.Bullying is real and it does need to stop.I had a few issues with the book.I think it focused way to much in the beginning about Julia and her parents move.I believe the book could have worked without so many details of the move.I was almost 30% or more done with the book and the main character and her parents still had yet to move out of the house.I feel it dragged the book down to be honest.I could have done with 1 or 2 chapters at the most dealing with the move, the packing etc.Basically sometimes less is more.I feel like if all the extra things about the moving could have been taken out then the author could have focused more on the bullying which I feel was quite rushed. For a book on bullying you need to have the bullying stand out and I think I personally would have liked to see it stand out a bit more.I didnt feel the angst, the emotions of a girl being bullied. The summary built the book up so much plus the title built the book up so much that I kept waiting for something extraordinay to happen.I also would have liked to see more of a relationship start between Julia and Alex as well. I am a huge Anti Bullying advocate,I loved reading about Julia's stand against her bullying.I loved what happened with Julia's Bill as well.

REVIEW-5 STARS

Perchance is once of those feel good books..that once you put down you want to pick it right back up and start over at the beginning.Perchance is about Remi who all she wants to do is graduate and go to college and be nothing like her mother.Cooper,Is meeting his father for the first time in 17 years. For both of them are in for unexpected surprises.
My favorite thing about this book is that the good romantic stuff starts right away. You don't have to wait  until the very ending for something to happen.I loved Cooper,In all honesty you rarely find a 17 year old like that and that made him stand out..in a good way.Remi I just wanted to give her a big hug..Unfortunately that's impossible..okay I did hug her in my head.I adored Coopers Grandmother she was wonderful..her role in the book was small and yet huge at the same time.
Lila Felix has written a book that will wrap you up and have you rooting for the main characters.I'd be here typing the same things over and over if I tried to explain just how much I loved this book.Haven't read it?Read it.Enjoy it!Love it!

Beautifully Broken By Amanda Bennett

WARNING: THIS BOOK CONTAINS ADULT LANGUAGE, CONTENT, AND SITUATIONS. 17+ RECOMMENDED

“Darkness swept through my vision as my short lived life passed before my eyes. His face was the last thing I saw before I succumbed to my destiny. It’s funny how life can change its direction in the blink of an eye. What had once brought me strength has now made me weak and it was no one’s fault but my own. I did this and unfortunately he would now be the one to suffer for it. I could feel my heart breaking into a million pieces all over again and the feeling made me want to die.”

At eighteen years old Bennett had finally realized what her feelings for Gray meant. Through all the loss and love that they had been through with each other nothing was going to tear them apart, except maybe time. She was willing to fight for her new found love of this boy she had always known. But forces beyond their control were willing to do whatever it took to do just that.

With Gray heading off to the police academy and her headed to college things were bound to change. Time apart, temptation, lies and loss would test the strength of the relationship they thought would outlast anything.

Five years later Bennett and Gray will be faced with a reality neither one of them ever thought possible. It’s up to Gray to save Bennett from a force so strong it will test his strength, love and undying devotion he swore to her all those years ago.
They both learn that life isn’t always fair and the things you desire most in life can come at a costly price.

Review

Well this story is definitely a page turner. It sucks you in like a tornado. This is the story of Bennett and Gray's love, mistakes and finding love all over again.I loved Bennett and Gray. Its amazing I think how so much could have been solved with a bit on communication on both their parts.I really do not like to give spoilers out.But I will say this the ending had me in tears.I think my only issue with the book is sometimes certain parts of the books jumped from one thing to another quickly so I had to re-read to make sure I got it correctly. Also the epilogue I feel was a bit confusing as I would have liked to know the time frame of how long Bennett was in the hospital as the one thing (Which I LOVED)wouldn't make sense with how far along it was.But other then that I loved them book. Im very glad to hear that there will be another book in this series,Im eager to see what happens next to Gray and Bennett..if indeed the book will be about them.Job Well Done Amanda Bennett!

Something More By Mia Castile

All she wanted was a fresh start. Moving to Chicago for college, escaping her small town, Nyla finally felt she had it all. Then Jameson is suddenly everywhere, invading her life, school schedule, and dating her supervisor at the posh art gallery where she works. How can she survive her fresh start, when her high school bully is everywhere.
The only thing that scared him about going to college was the crushing fear that he wouldn’t see Nyla anymore. So after graduation, Jameson applied to Roosevelt College, her school, to try to make sense of why he felt that way. Hoping it would only take a semester to understand his strange attraction and why he tormented her during high school, instead he realized that there was something more about Nyla, and something more to the way he felt. Now he must prove to her that she feels the same way about him.

REVIEW-5 STARS

I was honored to be given an ARC of Mia Castile's Something More.I enjoyed it so much My words wont do it justice. To summarize the story Nyla goes off to college in Chicago in hopes of a new start. Her nemesis Jameson ends up following her and somehow working his way into her daily life.Something More is a story about falling in love, righting wrongs and learning to forgive.
When I first started this book I was already enthralled...who doesn't want to see a person's high school tormenter turn a potential new leaf and make amends? You could feel the attraction between Nyla and Jameson throughout the book.I really honest to goodness felt bad for Ethan(who you will meet in this book)..Poor guy didn't stand a chance...but after awhile I honestly started not liking how he acted. There was a scene in this book...okay several scenes that I did a bit of a cheer after I read them.I won's say which as I dislike spoiling the book for others.Overall,I adored Something More,The fact that it ended made me sad.It could have been made into a longer book in my opinion but works so very well as a Novella. The icing on the cake was the Ending.Thats all Im saying.Lips are SEALED.
Mia,You have yet again blown me away.I thank you for the opportunity to read Something More as an ARC.You have such a talent of making words come alive.I as always look forward to your next work.

---------------
REVIEW-Spoilers

Reaping Me Softly is the first book I have read by Kate Evangelista.Reaping Me Softly is about Arianne, who see's spirits and Niko who is a reaper. They go to the same high school, where they deal with a bully,Arianne's sick sister and so much more.
I felt this story flowed really well,It definitely was a page turner.I did have a few issues with the book,I think Arianna honestly took Niko being something not human a bit to easily. She didnt question it..it was as if it was an everyday occurrence.I also was kind of thrown for a loop with the whole Darla thing..It was just kind of out there and unexpected..Im not sure how I feel about it.The bullying was a bit understated...im not sure how one person could rule a school like that. When Niko accidentally takes Arianne's sisters soul I feel is was a bit rushed afterwards, with what happened.I would have liked it to slow down a small bit.
The ending was Killer though.I loved and hated the ending since I have to wait until book 2 comes..I do hope it is soon.It really brings the "How far would you go for the one you loved' right up front. All in All I really enjoyed Reaping Me Softly.I would and will suggest it as a book to read!

The Sea of Tranquility By Katja Millay

I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Full of rage and without a purpose, former pianist Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her pay.

All 17 year-old Josh Bennett wants is to build furniture and be left alone and everyone allows it, because it’s easier to pretend he doesn’t exist. When your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, a hot mess of a girl who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. The more he gets to know her, the more of a mystery she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he may ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding or if he even wants to.

The Sea of Tranquility is a slow-building, character-driven romance about a lonely boy, an emotionally fragile girl, and the miracle of second chances.

Content Warning: This book contains mature themes and subject matter including profanity, drug/alcohol use, and sexual situations/language.

REVIEW

Where do I start?I just finished The Sea of Tranquility and Im so unsure of where to begin.First of all..I cannot believe Im just not finding out about this the book or Katja Millay for that matter.I want to say I was enthralled from the moment I started this book..but I was more then Enthralled..is there a word for that?I literally had a hard time unclenching my hands from around my kindle.
What an emotional story this is.I normally try and do a synopsis of the story but Im not going to this time.It is way to emotional.Like an emotional roller coaster. The story flowed so well and the changing of characters voices chapter to chapter was amazingly smooth.I thought the ending was wonderful and very well done.Would I like to see a second book out about Josh and Nastya/Em I would love to...in fact can I request it now please??!?!?!  A standing ovation is in order for The Sea of Tranquility. Please take the time to read it.You will not be sorry.
