*REVIEW*My Side By Tara Brown

My Side
By Tara Brown
Release:May 2013
Erin Benson felt like she'd won the lottery when she arrived all the way from North Dakota with the keys to her first home in hand.
Crisp white walls: Check.
Breathtaking view of downtown Boston: Check.
Minutes from Northeastern School of Law: Check.

But home is not always where the heart is. Sometimes it’s where you find Mr. Random shacked up and sprawled out on what was supposed to be your new bed.
Between the bear spray and the handcuffs, she discovers a terrible mistake has been made.
Lochlan hasn't broken into her new home to sleep with a seedy barmaid...he owns half.

With emotions running on high, Erin is determined to tough it out until a solution can be found.
The tight quarters seem smaller with his accumulated clutter and bizarre sleeping schedule. It also doesn't help that he's the new lead singer for Thin Ice, an indie band on its rise to fame.
What happens when a quiet bookworm gets stuck with a relentless rocker?
What happens when the things you see are not the things you get?

I was given an ARC for an honest review

So Where the heck do I begin?Do I begin by telling you how late I stayed up reading My Side? How bleary eyed I was this morning because of it?Do I begin by telling you how immersed I was in the book?Where oh Where do I begin?First off Tara Brown is a genius. Its that simple. My Side literally draws you in and keeps you enthralled until the very end.At the end your grasping at straws hoping the book doesn't actually have to end.I don't do spoilers so That's that.I will say I loved Erin and I loved Lochlan. The secondary characters were awesome.Pure Awesome.I literally just want to keep gushing and ooohing and ahhing over how great My Side is.It got me over my book slump. The feeling of reading a great book and having it end..but being okay with it ending is great.Tara as always has outdid herself. She has written yet another winner. She is an outstanding author. Her books never cease to amaze me.Great Job Tara!

*REVIEW* Impossible By Komal Kant

October 24, 2012

Ashton Summers is on her way to becoming the most popular girl in school and nothing—or no one—is going to stand in her way. Especially not Luca Byron, her freak neighbor, with his tattoos, loud music, and distracting green eyes.

Luca Byron has three goals in life: get through high school with a low profile, make sure his garage band becomes something more than a hobby, and try to forget about his insufferable ex-best friend, Ashton, who he can’t get out of his mind.

The last thing Ashton and Luca want to do is rekindle their friendship, but when Ashton takes a tumble down the social ladder, Luca—with his new makeover—is the only one who can help her rise up again by pretending to be her boyfriend. At first, being together is unbearable and annoying, but things start to change as Ashton and Luca discover the real reasons they drifted apart seven years ago.

Now, keeping their hands off each other seems impossible.

This book is recommended for Mature Young Adult readers 17+ due to language and sexual content.

Impossible,Was a book I read ironically right after I read Falling For Hadie.Which shows you that you do not need to read them in order.I will admit I had a hard time liking Ashton in the beginning. She was mean. She was cruel.I said self..there is no way possible that you can like her.Well I was wrong.Because I did end up liking her once she made some major changes.Luca and Ashton both grew up together but grew apart during the years due to tragedy and them running with different crowds.Ashton is a very popular girl,Your essential mean girl  and she is knocked down a peg and is pretty much a social leper now. Luca is her neighbor. He is your essential rocker and dresses like a rocker does.Eventually Ashton and Luca see eye to eye after quite a bit of fighting.Once they do its amazing.
I have said it before and I will say it again.Komal Kant knows how to write.Reading her work is amazing. Its the Unless the house is on fire or the kids have an emergency then do not interrupt me good.I look forward to Komal's next books.Seriously I'm not sure what anyone is waiting for.Read this.Move it on up your To Be Read list.Do it!It is so worth it!Another job well done Komal.

*Review*Come Back To Me By Coleen Patrick

                                                         Come Back To Me
                                                       Pub Date-March 5, 2013
How do you hold onto happy?

“I slapped a palm in the middle of the Scrabble board, scattering the tiles, the bubble of laughter rising up out of my chest.

It was effervescent. I laughed again. I felt again. It was so sudden, so surprising, that no matter how wasted I was, I couldn’t forget it. It was as if I cracked for a moment, and happy birds fluttered out of my open spaces.”

Whitney Denison can’t wait to start over.

She thought she had everything under control, that her future would always include her best friend Katie… Until everything changed.

Now her life in Bloom is one big morning after hangover, filled with regret, grief, and tiny pinpricks of reminders that she was once happy. A happy she ruined. A happy she can’t fix.

So, she is counting down the days until she leaves home for Colson University, cramming her summer with busywork she didn’t finish her senior year, and taking on new hobbies that involve glue and glitter, and dodging anyone who reminds her of her old life.

When she runs into the stranger who drove her home on graduation night, after she’d passed out next to a ditch, she feels herself sinking again. The key to surviving the summer in Bloom is unraveling whatever good memories she can from that night.

But in searching for answers, she’ll have to ask for help and that means turning to Evan, the stranger, and Kyle, Katie’s ex-boyfriend. Suddenly, life flips again, and Whitney finds herself on not only the precipice of happy but love, too, causing her to question whether she can trust her feelings, or if she is falling into her old patterns of extremes.

As she uncovers the truth about her memories, Whitney sees that life isn’t all or nothing, and that happy isn’t something to wait for, that instead, happy might just be a choice.

Whitney has some problems and one of those problems includes having a drinking problem. The other is the death of her ex-best friend.Whitney goes to rehab and comes home to try and rebuild her life.Trying to please parents who want her a certain way and coming to grips with her friends death is almost too much.Whitney meets Evan who helps her somewhat..But the only person who can truly Help Whitney is Whitney.
The Good:The book kept my attention all the way through.I felt for Whitney, for her pain and what she was dealing with.I LOVE when a book grabs me.The kind that you are able to get lost in.
The Not so good.:Some of Whitney's inner Dialogue was a bit confusing and sometimes was just too much. I would have liked to see a bit more into Whitney and Evan's relationship. It seemed a bit rushed to me.Other then that it was WONDERFUL. Coleen Patricks Debut Novel ,Come Back To Me is one of those books that you will be disappointed if you dont read it..Read it!Enjoy it!Coleen is definitely an author to watch out for!

Its amazing how much life can change when something accidentally lands in the hands of a person it wasn't supposed to.Its all about those tiny things that happen that change history. So many different lives are changed by one letter.Jenn is struggling with life,Shane is dealing with his own pain and his cousin who is Jenn's Boss is dealing with his own family issues. There is so many great things about this story that I wish I could just shout them out loud to all you readers BUT I do not want to post spoilers.Let me just say this.If you are military related(spouse, girlfriend) you will definitely be able to relate to this book.I will also say that If Shane deserves to be called a hero in so many ways he is just full of amazing. This book goes back and forth between Jenn and Shane and its done correctly so it is easy to read and switch back and forth. You aren't left guessing who is talking. All I can say is that this is a MUST READ.

It is a Contemporary Romance not Young Adult.Although I suppose a mature reader could handle this book.

Shuffle By Avery Bell

So, this is going to be awkward. Coming back to school after your mom commits suicide is no piece of cake, especially when everybody's convinced you've been locked away in a padded cell all summer. Rumors have a habit of springing up instantly at Peaks High, and weird stuff is flying around about the murder my sister's been investigating, that fire up in Oldtown, shenanigans in the boys' locker room after football practice...

And then he had to show up.

Arbor Vitae Damo da Rosa. Pale skin, eyes so dark you can't see his pupils. English accent. Immediately the most popular boy in school. And, this is probably crazy, but I think he might be stalking me. Hey, you don't have to believe me. I was in the loony bin, remember? There's something off about him, in a very Edward Cullen sort of way. But I'm pretty sure he's no vampire. And I definitely don't have a crush on him. (Though... I have to admit, he does look good in those jeans.)

Lately my life's been a huge jigsaw puzzle – one I don't have all the pieces to. I just can't shake the feeling that all of this is connected somehow. I have to figure it out. Because people keep dying...

Shuffle is a story about a girl Evi who comes back to school after her mother commits suicide. There is a new boy in school named Arbor,He is quite popular, very pale and seems somewhat suspicious.Im having a hard time coming up with the proper words to tell you how I feel about this story.I think the premise for the book was good. But I feel like it never quite happened.
It feels like there was three different sections of the book rather then one great book that flowed together well.It was quite confusing.First,Evi whose mother just committed suicide was quite perky..she wasnt as depressed as Id expect someone whose mother just committed suicide a few months ago.Second,I had issues with the whole George/Jim love triangle im not sure why that was needed and it totally came out of  left field. Then in like the space of 3 chapters I found out what was going on and the book ended. The book and I just did not mesh well.Perhaps others will enjoy it more then I did.

Top Ten Uses for an Unworn Prom Dress By Tina Ferraro

Sophomore year, Nicolette Antonovich was dumped two days before prom by the hottest guy at school. As a result, she became the proud owner of one unworn, perfectly magical pink vintage dress. But Nic is determined to put that night behind her for good. She's a junior now— older, wiser, and completely overwhelmed by a new set of problems: (1) The bank's ready to foreclose on her childhood home. (2) Her father's too busy with his "replacement" daughter to care. (3) Her best friend's brother is an eternal thorn in her side. (4) Her best friend isn't exactly the rose attached to that thorn. (5) Rumors are flying around school that could get her kicked off the volleyball team, which would (6) ruin all chances of a college scholarship. (7) She still likes the boy who dumped her in the first place. (8) And what in the world do you do with an unworn prom dress, anyway? Strangely, it's getting to the bottom of this last dilemma that just might hold the answer to all Nic's problems.

Nicolette is dumped...2 days prior to prom.Who does that..Well Rascal Pasqual apparently. All Nicolette can think of is THAT dress. She even has a list of what can be done with it.While you might be thinking is this just about a silly girl not getting to wear her prom dress its so much more then that.Nicolette has quite a bit on her plate..Her moms job is struggling,Rumors are flying around,Her friend is acting weird and whats even weirder..two guys are coming to blows..over her.
I thought this was a super cute read.I couldnt go to bed until I had finished it.I loved that Nicolette wanted to help her mom so much and felt so bad when things failed to go right for her.But you have to give her credit for trying.I really really liked Jared..He was an uber cutie pie and perfect for Nicolette. This was an amazingly great read..Ultra Clean as well so no worries if the younger crowd reads it either. In fact I think it would be a great for a younger teen to read as well as the older teen and even adult.Check it out and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

None Of The Regular Rules By Erin Downing

Sometimes, a few dares can change lives...

The weekend before the start of senior year, Sophie Erickson and her best friends, Ella and Grace, discover a handwritten list of dares tucked away in the glove compartment of Sophie's beat-up old Toyota. But this isn't just any list; it's a dead girl's bucket list.

Sophie's beloved aunt Suzy died as a teenager in a fatal fall, leaving Sophie with an overly cautious family, a few fading photographs, and a bucket of bolts that barely passes for a car. But now, Sophie has Suzy's list of the things she wanted to do in her last year of high school. Sophie can't help but wonder: What would happen if she tried to fulfill Suzy's last wishes, to live out the longed-for life of her aunt, her hero?

As Sophie and her friends attempt to knock off the things on Suzy's list of dares, love blossoms in unexpected places and Sophie begins to feel that her life is finally coming together...when in fact, everything is slowly unraveling around her. When the truth about a long-held family secret threatens to shatter everything she believed to be true, Sophie is forced to question everything she knew about the life and people she believed in, and ultimately herself.

None of the Regular Rules is a hilarious, heartbreaking, and sexy new novel from the author of Drive Me Crazy and Kiss It.

I was gifted a Copy of None of The Regular Rules by Erin Downing for a honest review. This story is about Sophie finding a list left by her Aunt Suzy who died after falling from a water tower.Sophie decides to complete the items on the list in honor of her Aunt. Her friends Grace and Ella help her and her Neighbor Johnny Rush comes in pretty handy with a certain ultra cool ride on lawn mower. This story is about finding out who You are,not losing yourself in the process, finding love and last but not least the power of friendship.
Wow.Wow.Wow.Yes 3 Wows.None of The Regular Rules is that good.I literally would have pulled an all nighter on this had it not been for my minions needing to be at school in the morning. As I've mentioned before..A good book in my eyes is one that entrenches you in it..makes the world go away..all of which happened for me.If I could have had one thing change in the book it would have been a teeny bit more romance..BUT let me say that the book has it and does it well..Im just a sucker for the ooey gooeyness of it.I loved the ending and honestly the last paragraph was wonderfully written.I also have to say that I love that Sophie just chopped her hair off..let her friends cut it and send it to Locks of Love. That was epic as its honestly the first time I have seen it in a young adult novel.Honestly If you haven't read None of The Regular Rules..what are you waiting for? This is a MUST read.Walk,Run to your computer and get it.You will not be disappointed.

Mobsters Girl-Amy Rachiele- 5 stars

Gripping my chest is the only way to hold myself together or what’s left of me will fall out. The past week has enlightened me on one thing-I don’t care.

Antonio and Megan have a timeless issue. They were told to stay away from each other. They try, they really do. But they are drawn to each other.
Antonio is eighteen and the up and coming mob boss of Palmetto, New Jersey. Megan is a girl uprooted from the grassy plains of Ireland at the age of five. Now she’s seventeen and faced with horrors she never thought existed.

-------------------------------------
Wow,What a very wonderful read.I was expecting to enjoy it..but totally and utterly fell in love with it.This story is about the somewhat forbidden romance between Megan and Antonio. Megan is a Irish girl in an Italian neighborhood and Antonio is the son of a mob boss. They are both attracted to each other and for a short while are able to date before Megan's Parent's do something unthinkable.Without giving to much of the ending away lets just say its left at a nail biting cliffhanger.
I was blown away by just how easily I was able to immerse myself in this book.I wish it was longer and not a series as I really disliked that it ended. But that is a sign of a great book.It was a quick read for myself so I hope book 2 is slightly longer.I see great things coming from Amy Rachiele.I am anxiously awaiting ..throw in some nail biting as well for book 2 and hoping to see how Megan and Antonio's relationship plays out.

When she was nine, Megan Meade met a group of terrible, mean, Popsicle-goo-covered boys, the sons of her father's friend -- the McGowan boys. Now, seven years later, Megan's army doctor parents are shipping off to Korea and Megan is being sent to live with the little monsters, who are older now and quite different than she remembered them.
Living in a house with seven boys will give Megan, who has never even been kissed, the perfect opportunity to learn everything there is to know about boys. And she'll send all her notes to her best friend, Tracy, in...
Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys

Observation #1: Being an army brat sucks. Except that this is definitely a better alternative to moving to Korea. Observation #2: Forget evil, laughing, little monsters. These guys have been touched by the Abercrombie gods. They are a blur of toned, suntanned perfection.
Observation #3: I need a lock on my door. STAT.
Observation #4: Three words: six-pack abs.
Observation #5: Do not even get me started on the state of the bathroom. I'm thinking of calling in a hazmat team. Seriously.
Observation #6: These boys know how to make enemies. Big time.
Megan Meade will have to juggle a new school, a new family, a new crush -- on the boy next door, as in next bedroom door -- and a new life. Will she survive the McGowan boys?
----------------------------------------
Megan's parents are in the military and are moving to South Korea.Megan is tired of moving and wants to stay in the states. In order for her to stay she has to stay with the McGowen Boys..who have drastically changed from in the years since she last saw them.
First off let me pre-face this and say I expected more from this book.I liked it and it drew me in,kept my attention in the book. However the lack of romance in the book was a big disappointment. You have a really good book and then you have one measly chapter of a small romance and then You have no idea whats going on with that relationship since the book never takes you there or goes over it.Just brushes over it.I thoroughly enjoyed this book except for the ending.I feel the ending could have closed things up a bit more..Unless there is going to be a sequel.Perhaps that's why it was left the way it was. This book is a fun read that is worth taking the time to read.

--------------------------------------------------
 Possible Spoilers
This is not the first book I've read by Tiffany King so Im familiar with her work.I enjoyed this story.Kassandra's father was killed by a drunk driver with road rage,Maddon is her fathers killer's son. They both go to the same high school and eventually get to know each other. In the beginning of the book I was a upset at how Kassandra's mother reacted to her husbands death and let Kassandra deal with it all. That was so unfair to Kassandra. When Kassandra and Madden start hanging out she is so conflicted,I cannot even begin to imagine how I would be feeling or how my emotions were in that sitation.Kassandra was mature about it and on only one occassion did I get slightly upset with her.
The only bone I have to pick with this book is that I feel the ending and conflict were too abrupt. The conflict and ending were summed up in a few chapters.I would have loved and I mean loved to have had a few extra chapters for Kassandra and Madden to Iron out everything and just see what happens after the ending.Im so trying not to be confusing,But I just felt the book was ended a bit to abruptly for the type of book it is.Overall I enjoyed this and would recommend reading it.

Blue Sky Days-Marie Landry

A year after graduating from high school, nineteen-year-old Emma Ward feels lost. She has spent most of her life trying to please her frigid, miserable mother - studying hard, getting good grades, avoiding the whole teenage rebellion thing - and now she feels she has no identity beyond that. Because she spent so many years working hard and planning every moment of her life, she doesn't have any friends, has never had a boyfriend, and basically doesn't know who she is or what she really wants from life. Working two part-time jobs to save money for college hasn't helped her make decisions about her future, so she decides it's time for a change. She leaves home to live with her free-spirited, slightly eccentric Aunt Daisy in a small town that makes Emma feel like she's stepped back in time.

When Emma meets Nicholas Shaw, everything changes - he's unlike anyone she's ever met before, the kind of man she didn't even know existed in the 21st century. Carefree and spirited like Daisy, Nicholas teaches Emma to appreciate life, the beauty around her, and to just let go and live. Between Daisy and Nicholas, Emma feels like she belongs somewhere for the first time in her life, and realizes that you don't always need a plan - sometimes life steers you where you're meant to be.

Life is wonderful, an endless string of blue sky days, until Nicholas is diagnosed with cancer, and life changes once again for Emma in ways she never thought possible. Now it's time for her to help Nicholas the way he's helped her. Emma will have to use her new-found strength, and discover along the way if love really is enough to get you through.

---------------------

What a wonderful story about finding love and finding yourself.Emma Ward has no idea what she wants to do with her life so she decides to visit her Aunt Daisy. While There she meets Nicholas who she falls in love with. However,They have more trials then the normal couple.
I could not put the kindle down!I was enthralled in the lives of Emma and Nicholas. The love they have for each other is hard to find and they found it.It was refreshing to have a book jump out and grab me as this one did.I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Blue Sky Days. I look forward to reading more by Marie Landry.Highly suggest this book.Have tissues handy!

Across The Hall-NM Facile

Sylvia O’Mara has spent the last four years trying to get over her high school sweetheart, who after breaking off their relationship left town without any reasons. With the help of her friends she has moved on and started dating a mysterious bad boy. She isn't happy, but she's content; until she meets the new neighbor.

Quinn Lobato has recently moved to Minneapolis to finish college close to his parents. His mother found the perfect apartment for him close to campus and assured him it has everything he needs. Quinn has had his own hurtful past and is looking forward to starting med school and a new life.

Little do they know that what they each need is waiting just across the hall.

-------------------------------

Major Spoilers In the 2nd chapter...Cover your eyes! :P

Wow what a story!Across the Hall is a story about two people who are trying to get over their pasts.Little did they know how much they would need each other.I cannot even begin to imagine having the person who broke your heart, who you never got over move in across from you,but that is what happens to Sylvia.Meet Quinn..who single handily ruined Sylvia emotionally...He did have his selfless reasons I have to add.One must have a "Villian" in a book once in awhile and the Villian here is Beau.Beau is Sylvia's "boyfriend" and a bad boy who ends up stalking her.Beau is BAD.
The Point of View goes from Sylvia to Quinn each chapter,I like this idea to a point. What I did NOT like was the fact that I read Sylvias Point of View and the next chapter had to read quinns take on the previous chapter..which basically made me feel like I was reading the same chapter twice the entire book.Everyone who reads this blog has to know..Im an Epilogue Girl...This Epilogue was one I did not enjoy. It was taken too far into the future.I would have been happy knowing they had a wonderful like and kids etc.I really didnt need to see them as Grandparents.I just think She took it too far into the future. To go from them being 22 respectively to suddenly grandparents in the Epilogue was a bit of a leap for me.
I can respectively group this book with the likes of Jamie Mcquire and Colleen Hoover.I thoroughly enjoyed this book.It was YA MATURE novel. There is Cursing,Sex and lots of drinking in it..which totally makes for a pretty darn great book. You can Purchase Across the Hall  HERE on Amazon.

---------
First off let me say I highly dislike writing negative reviews...I debated for awhile whether to write this review or not.I came to the conclusion that I had to.From what I gather Rubi the main character has a hard life and you first meet her in the 6th grade and somewhat watch her grow up,
What can I say honestly about this book other then how confusing it was and my gosh the drama. When I read a book I enjoy reading one that takes me away from life and lets me hop into the book. With this book I wanted to get out as quickly as I could. My major issues with the book are as follows.Number 1,I am not the author so I have no idea what is going on in the Authors head..so when vital information is left out and I am left trying to figure out how something went from point A to Point C without going to Point B first its very very confusing.I got so tired of reading the story and reading so many inconsistencies, random things happening and feeling like I had been left out of the loop. Number 2,When your writing a book that deals with issues like parental abandonment do Not just brush over it or have the main character be so stupid to not even know what is going on.Come on...The girl was abandoned by her whole family and she doesn't know why?Number 3,How many "relationships" does one girl need? She sleeps with one guy..an hour later another guy..then in the next paragraph she is in love with another one. Then 2 chapters later she is with another guy etc...its like a revolving door.Last but not least...so many errors..honestly I don't enjoy being nitpicky about errors..they happen..not a big deal. However my issues are with grammar.I also had a hard time reading when the characters were speaking Spanish and then right under the Spanish sentences in parenthesis was the English meaning. There were so many random things happening in the book.It was so frustrating that I gave up on it.

Loving Summer-Kailin Gow

Summer has always looked forward to spending her summers at her Aunt's beach house with the Donovans. To her, summers at Aunt Sookie's beach house was magical, especially getting to spend time with the Donovans - her best friend Rachel and Rachel's brothers Nathaniel, and Drew. Here at Aunt Sookie's beach house, they can be anyone and anything they dreamed. For Summer, she had always wished to become as pretty as Rachel and for her brothers to think of her as more than Rachel's friend. For Nat and Drew, summers at Aunt Sookie's beach house meant fun and escape, a place where they go to with their mom and sister for the summer, away from city life. They never thought this summer would be different. They never thought things would change as much as they did...and it all began with them falling for and loving Summer.
---------------

Kailin Gow has done it again...creating yet another great story...that when it ends your left wanting to beg her to hurry up and release the following book. How can she keep doing this to me..oh the torture!(Okay enough dramatics..breath in breath out..)
In Loving Summer your introduced to Summer,Rachel,Nat,Drew and Aunt Sookie(who I happened to have so much trouble with her name since everytime I read it..I read it in Vampire Bills...Sookeh voice.) I dont want to call this a love triangle as its not quite a triangle..but perhaps a love square?Without giving too much of the book away there are 3 boys who all fall in love with Summer.I will leave it at that.Throughout this book Kailin Gow again addresses some serious topics;Depression, self esteem, divorce,Suicide.I love that she addresses these topics..they need to be out there floating around.
So once again Kailin has written another wonderfully entertaining story. If your looking for an nice summer read..pick this up.You wont be disappointed.

You can purchase Loving Summer HERE for kindle(or paperback) Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
